I ignored the reviews on this firm and wanted to make my own judgement so chose Chadwick Lawrence, it was a lot cheaper than a local firm so I thought why not.
They Got the job done (eventually) after an initial few weeks of constant emailing with no response from the employee dealing with our transfer of equity, Kayleigh. It took phoning our conveyancer (SAM conveyancing) , plus Chadwick Lawrence themselves at least once a day for a few weeks until we finally got back in contact with.
The ball started rolling but paperwork that had been sent in (very important paperwork such as ID1 forms, TR1 form etc) was continuously getting lost and I was being told I would be contacted when it was found. This happened on the lead up to Christmas and it took 2 weeks to get in contact with me regarding the paperwork I had sent in via special next day delivery as it had “gotten lost” which in turn meant our transfer wouldn’t get completed until the new year (convenient) and once it hit the new year things thankfully started getting rolling properly and then completed which of course I am greatful for but the whole process which was supposed to take the stress away from us ended up causing a lot more hassle and stress than it needed to and I absolutely wish I spent a bit more money to use a different firm because it was an unnecessary stress over Christmas and new years waiting for it to be completed & I felt I was doing the work for them most of the time rather than the work being done for me with the constant chasing.
Communication was also extremely poor in terms of being polite and friendly, snappy emails & messages going from “kind regards” to “regards” with blunt and short responses to emails when I was asking for things to be hurried up, chasing things up such as my missing documents or asking questions which was completely unprofessional.

Other than this, Zoe Hayman, Ben & other members of the team were very efficient and polite in emails & with their side of things being completed, but it’s a shame for the most part and the most crucial part was being handled by someone completely unprofessional & rude but I am grateful for the final completion of our matter & hope that others have a better experience with them if they choose to use them

Overall, I would avoid using this firm for a transfer of equity & I would spend a bit more money to use a more reliable & professional firm. But I hope others have a better experience if they do choose to use them.

The solicitor I worked with was helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and responsive. I felt fully informed and comfortable with the process, and everything went very smoothly. I would recommend this firm.
