My dedicated accountant James Carrington at Caroola has been amazing help for the last two years with personal and Limited Company affairs. Extremely knowledgeable and always available to answer any questions. The monthly set fee is very reasonable for the range of services included. James has done it all from setting up the company, yearly accounts and helping liquidate the company. It's been so easy to deal with one person across everything. Have recommended James to my friends!

Very disappointed with Caroola’s service.

Sole trade customer for 6 months.

Had to fire them.

Slow to reply by email, and unable to reach them over the phone for more urgent matters (and in which case, I didn’t receive a call back).

By their own admission, a “miscommunication” lead to me being fined by HMRC.

Not a stress free experience for me at all, so much so it’s led to me wanting to take the time to share my poor experience with Caroola here on Google business, (which is not something that I am moved to do often)

In my opinion, very poor value for money, and no sense of care or even the slightest glimmer of personal service given.

I was with SJD who were acquired by Caroola, and since the start of 2024 the service has declined rapidly...
An ever changing dedicated accountant, 4 now since March 2024. Not listening to me, as I changed back to a PAYE role for the new tax year, and I kept getting told about tax liabilities and payments on account.
Response time for questions and queries has fallen through the floor - with SJD it used to be a 24 hour SLA!
My account is in a dormant state, and they are reneging on a service I have technically already paid for in the form of their monthly d/debit!
As soon as my tax liabilities are cleared I will be closing down my account asap

I was with SJD who were acquired by Caroola and it's been a slow descent ever since. The icing on the cake has just come recently as Caroola solicited me for my current banking info in order to prepare my VAT return SIX MONTHS after I've formally notified them of their dismissal, but they have yet to formally complete the handover of my business to my new accountants. Foot-dragging had become a main reason for me switching, but it was never this bad. I'm actually considering a formal complaint to the relevant governing body. If you're looking for an account who will help keep your stress low keep looking.

I had terrible experience with SJD. Turn over of accountants is shocking to the point that I'm now semi used to my emails going unanswered for weeks and then I get another of those emails with someone introducing themselves as my new accountant. There's absolutely no continuity between one accountant leaving and another starting. I have now been trying to close my ltd company for almost 2 years and I'm just being bounced between different teams in SJD.
For any contractors out there looking for accounting company to do their finances - stay away from SJD. Awful service

Onboarding service has been excellent. I've found SJD easy and helpful to engage with and the process has been clearly explained to me at each step. Would recommend if you want all the hassle taking out of setting up a Limited Company.
