I had a very unsatisfactory experience with Patrick McGowan.

I needed help for a professional negligence case where my previous conveyancer had failed to check title deeds.

Patrick spoke on the phone with me, he told me more than once that he was very thorough and also advised why I shouldn’t engage the services of the “promoted” legal services/firms on Google search.

After paying over £500 to read a few pages of paperwork I was advised to contact the negligent party myself.

I then contacted one of the promoted firms advertised on Google who took immediate action. I was also overjoyed to note my appointed solicitor was in the Legal 500 plus other accolades. He was/is simply brilliant and is such a gentleman.

He is soon to complete the litigation so as soon as it concludes I will follow up with a review of his firm.

Update: I used Robert Johnson of Healys, London. After an initial short telephone conversation he requested just two sheets of paper from me - the rider and the admission of liability from Enact Conveyancing.

Once he had those he filed a claim within two days. The only thing he needed to check was dates due to limitations in the event of litigation.

Enact Conveyancing responded with an incompetent reply, they were clearly floundering. Robert replied with a short but efficacious email and they settled immediately.

Clearly using those promoted firms Patrick McGowan suggested I ignore was what won me my case. And it commenced and settled within a couple of weeks. Robert was concise, extremely knowledgeable and inspired the utmost confidence.

Patrick McGowan wrote to me “ I need to set aside some time to consider what Enact are saying and will come back to you.” This comment astounded me and was my sole reason to seek an alternative solicitor.

I found CAP Law on google when I had a complex issue with property purchase that could have ended up with catastrophic consequences if it wasnt for Patrick's expert guidance over the past few months. At the time I really didnt know where to turn, but really glad I came to CAP because i was able to get a very specialised and personalised service which I would not have got from a larger law firm.
