Avoid at ALL costs. 3.5 years ago I used Burton’s for the purchase of my flat. Today, 3.5 years on, it’s come to light that it was not done correctly and I am not the legal freeholder - the old owner is. It should have been my solicitors’ job, as I was the buyer, to ensure this was done correctly. Now, this mistake is about to cause an 8-person chain to collapse. Malcolm Haddow, who is supposed to be resolving this and dealing with the complaint, does not call back and is totally uncommunicative. Please, please do not use the conveyancing department of Burton’s. Total negligence, incompetence, and lack of urgency to fix their (totally admitted) errors.

3 years ago I used Burtons to sell my property . It was an awful experience ! Stay clear of this place ! Months later after I had moved , it appeared I remained on the deeds ! Woops ! Malcolm Haddow put his hands up and admits fault ! Now my daughter at the same time bought a flat in London - using Burtons. She has only just discovered , some
3 1/2 years later that Burtons did not do the freehold transfer and she is not on the freehold . Malcom Haddow again puts his hands up ! But now fails to respond to rectify ! Negligence!

Highly recommend Jayne Ashworth-Baynes to all my friends and family. Such a relief that my partner and I have now made our Wills.
We all talk about getting them done but now I can say what a smooth and simple process it was.
