I would happily recommend Martin Turner and Alison his PA to anyone that may want conveyancing works.

We've had many dealings with Martin for a number of houses in the past 18 month and always found it to be a good service.

There has been times that you must chase up find out what's going on but overall a great service. Hence why only 4 stars.

If however the review was based on James I wouldn't rate him at all appalling let me down on land bought some years ago extremely slow, would avoid at all costs.

Just picture it!: You're traveling through another dimension -- a dimension not only of cancelled meetings two minutes before the agreed deadline and communication light years apart but off a vacuous service environment. A journey into a wondrous land whose boundaries are that of imagination. That's a signpost up ahead: your next stop: the Twilight Zone! You unlock this door with the key of imagination. Beyond it is another dimension of zero professionalism. You're moving into a land of both slickness, style but no substance, of hope and ideas. You've just crossed over into... the Twilight Zone. In despair no one can hear you scream!

My boyfriend and I were looking at buying our first house. We found the house we wanted which was a repossession, as most people will know the lenders like to get everything complete within 21 days. Brown and Murray’s was the lowest price we approached, making it more affordable for us. I would like to express my thanks to roger and his team for getting everything sorted for us within this strict deadline. The service was absolutely excellent and we could not fault anything they did for us. Always there to help us with any queries we had or didn’t understand anything they explained it to us in a way we could understand. Excellent service and value. Would highly recommend this solicitor.

As a first time buyer I was delighted with the professional and fast Conveyancing service that I received, from the receptionist, who was always very polite and extremely helpful both in person and on the telephone to the reassuring nature of the contact from the solicitors, who explained every part of the process in writing and were always happy to answer questions over the telephone right through to completion. Would highly recommend.

DO NOT USE.

Would give NO stars if possible. As a first time buyer my partner and myself were a bit nervous going through the motions. Cumberland building society recommend Brown & Murray. However there was (still is) a lack of communication. It took over a week for each email response over the 14 week process, they constantly emailed the wrong email addresses, phoned wrong numbers. Even after being provided with the correct ones each time we got in touch with them. Which we had to do any time we wanted any information. Each phone call started with being put through on hold. To which I hung up and phoned back immediately.
We never (to this day) received any information regarding energy, water and phone providers.

The house in question is on a land lease, to which no information has been sent. Then when a bill arrived in the last few weeks with an invoice, we were given no choice but to pay, to a company we didn't recognise.

Plus an obscene "miscellaneous" charge. Justified by "stationary, phone calls and general bits".

Hopefully you will read this before you use this solicitor. There are other one star reviews on yellow pages reviews. Don't think it won't happen to you!

Honestly if you use these solicitors you will regret it.
