We visited The Britannia for a relaxing lunch and a day out with my nephews, whom I hadn’t seen in a while. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it a great spot for a family gathering.

Initially, I was a little concerned after my sister mentioned the menu options, but I was pleasantly surprised to find a well-thought-out vegetarian dish, which made the experience even better. The food itself was delicious—fresh, well-prepared, and full of flavour. Each dish was beautifully presented, and you could tell that care had gone into the preparation.

What really stood out was the excellent service. The staff were incredibly attentive, checking in to make sure we had everything we needed without being intrusive. They were friendly, accommodating, and made the experience even more enjoyable.

Overall, The Britannia exceeded my expectations. The combination of great food, a welcoming atmosphere, and top-notch service made for a truly enjoyable meal. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a lovely dining experience!

Food delicious, service ok but some improvement needed. Restaurant not very busy but was asked to tell the waitress when we were ready for our meal. I appreciate this can be taken two ways but felt it wasn't our place to find the waitress.

Not worthy the prices which are not the ones on the menu in the website pictures. I asked for a standard (expensive) burger with a slice of cheese to be added (as all the other burgers options were not suitable) and got charged nearly £2 just for the slice. The espresso was water (and I am a coffee lover), the salad was not according to the menu and missed one ingredient. On a positive side, the staff was kind and considerate. Not worth returning.

Great venue, staff & food. We had a 90th birthday celebration for 50 + people with a fantastic buffet! Nothing was too much trouble & the afternoon was enjoyed by all 🥰

Gluten free menu approval?:Yes-There is plenty of Appetising options to choose from for a gluten free diet or gluten allergy.

Food:

The food was delicious. For starters I had the gluten free halloumi fries it was delicious especially with the sweet chilli sauce that comes with the dish. Also the crackling was delicious too. For mains I went for the chicken and rib combo, the ribs and chicken were both delicious,I love the seasoning put over the ribs. The chips was delicious too and the slaw was amazing and fresh. Not outrageously expensive either. There are Massive portion sizes for the food.

Would I recommend:Yes.
Location:In between Beaconsfield and Marlow.

Update 7/12/24:

The Britannia continues to be a great Family Friendly pub. We had a fantastic experience. We had a fantastic experience and polite service from our server and the food came out pretty quickly. The food was delicious today. For starters I had the Chicken Wings which were delicious,a generous portion size and nicely seasoned. I wasn’t sure whether to pick a sauce or not for my chicken wings so our Server very kindly offered to give us the Sticky Korean Sauce which was absolutely delicious. We also ordered Crackling to share which was the best quality Crackling I have ever had,it also came with Apple Sauce too. The Chicken and Rib Combo was delicious. The Ribs were tasty so was the Chicken and Chips and the Coleslaw was delicious and fresh. Also for drinks the two Lemonades were tasty and fresh. Lovely atmosphere, music, beautiful Christmas decorations and a lovely open Fire too. The only thing I would say is whilst the toilets are clean the Gents Restroom could do with a little bit of TLC and repair. The corridors and stairwell to get to the toilet are narrow. Not the Cheapest place to eat out in Buckinghamshire but you get certainly great Value for Money as the portions are huge and the experience offers you everything you could want! Also, the Britannia has a wide range of Gluten Free options on the Gluten Free menu. I noticed that all the food I ate came with an allergy flag and our Server even said Gluten Free Lemonade as She was putting the Lemonade down on the table. 10/10.

The worst food I have ever seen or tasted this place is getting worse Yet still cost me close on £70 should’ve gone for a kebab at Tony’s, chicken Was discoloured n dry, Didn’t even want to try it , Garden peas were like bullets no taste of pea, I will say the fish was tasty. So not a total disaster

We just been to the Britannia for lunch and it was excellent. Good food, excellent service by our waitress Louisa and attentive service by Lara dealing with one of our guests with certain allergies. Would definitely recommend and will not hesitate visiting again. Thank you everyone!
