Excellent selection of cream pastries (not French pastries), good selection of bread (not sourdough), helpful/friendly staff. Visit early though as virtually no bread/pastries left by mid afternoon.

Nice chicken/leek pie and cheese n onion pasty. Cheesecake really good, treacle slice a little too sickly for us. Service good, but did cost an extra £1 to heat the pies/pasties. Car park across the road. Shop quite small though, couldn't have large groups.

Was at the Bothams bakery in Sleights, not the cafe in Whitby. This is only a takeaway, not a sit in like the Whitby shop. There was a queue outside the door when I went, which says a lot. I bought some sausage rolls, roast ham and bread buns, which were all excellent. Definitely worth a visit if you are passing.

We stayed in a Sleights holiday cottage about 15 years ago, so that week we made multiple visits to Botham's.
So whenever we're over this way we have to stop to savour their delights and quality bakes

Our favourite bakery, we always visit when we are in the area, it's a proper homemade bakery, the lemon buns are a must to try. The bread is always fresh and the Stotties are great brown or white. The staff are always friendly.
If you are in the area give it a try, I would recommend

Finally got to visit today. First off the Lemon buns are amazing and so soft (gutted we only got 1 each). My son loved the caramel apollos so much so we popped back in on our way home to get another one. The prices were very reasonable and the staff were friendly. Looking forward to visiting again when we get a free day.
