Blaco Hill Farm Cottages - Doncaster

Have stayed in lovely “Skylark” cottage on a couple of occasions now with my boyfriend and our dogs. Most recently we stayed for a week in December and had a fantastic time exploring the local walks, villages and their pubs!

We particularly recommend following the footpaths straight out of the cottages, across the farm, onto Neatholme Lane and into The Bluebell Pub in Lound Village (great food!).

The cottage is warm and cozy and we felt very at home. The Christmas decorations/indoor Christmas tree were a lovely festive touch!

Owners welcoming and helpful. Property (Wren) well equipped with all necessary utensils and cooking equipment. Furniture comfortable. Property Clean and decorated satisfactory. However, supposedly a wheelchair friendly property, but this is definitely not suitable for anybody who is wheelchair band. The kitchen and lounge area suitable, but the bedroom and bathroom are most definitely not. Very difficult to manoeuvre round the bed, and it is impossible to manoeuvre a wheelchair in the bathroom.||This is a great pity because there is so much to do in the local area; national trust properties in close proximity and country parks and English heritage property near nearby. Also Retford, approximately 5 miles away is a lovely place.||On speaking to the owner , some interest has been shown in ensuring that an adjoining property (for birth) will be converted to be wheelchair accessible. I have looked at the property and consider that if the bathroom is converted to a wet room, and some other minor alterations carried out, this should be more than adequate for wheelchair bound customers. I hope this does happen, because we definitely want to return to the area.||Thanks to the owner for her help and for listening to the suggestions made.

This trip was an absolute dream from start to finish. We stayed for a week in the two bedroom cottage. The whole place had everything and was so peaceful, clean and friendly. Having washing machines on site was a god send with the children. I can’t wait to come back again !!

We had a fantastic stay at Blaco for one week. It was exactly what we needed. Very chilled out, spacious accommodation on a sleepy little hill with stunning views. The play barn was a fab space for the children. My husband worked from the cottage while we had day trips out and about. Would highly recommend as a base to explore the local area, or as a quiet retreat to relax and unwind.

Stayed in Swift cottage for one week in August 23.
Absolutely brilliant cottage. loads of space did not want for anything. surroundings are lovely, the play barn which has everything children and adults would need also plenty to do for the kids in the area.
Definitely would go back for another visit.
I'm sure nobody would be disappointed.

Just got back from a gorgeous weekend a blacohill farm. We had 7 cottages between 24 of us and couldn't of asked for anything better. All the cottages were clean and very well equipped with everything you could think of in the kitchens. The games room was just perfect for us all to meet in after a day out/meal out. Brilliant for both kids and adults. Lovely grasses area which entertained the kids for hours with a football and scooters etc. Fantastic communication from start to finish. Can't wait to go back

We stayed here this weekend as a large group of 21 for a family get together and all had a brilliant time. From point of booking, with our numerous questions before we arrived, Liz and Alastair replied promptly and did everything they could to ensure we had a great time. The best part for me was the games room with the large seating area upstairs which meant we could all be together on the evenings and the table tennis and pool table kept us all entertained. A beautiful place, lovely and quiet with gorgeous views and a lake nearby, but with pubs, shops etc within a short drive away. Would highly recommend and we will hopefully be back soon!

We spent a lovely weekend in Swallow cottage. Just perfect for a group of friends looking for some time in the country to relax and catch up.||We arrived to a very warm welcome from Liz and were shown to our cottage which was comfy, clean and tidy. Cottages are located on a working farm and the games room was a great place to relax and play a few games!||Highly recommend to anyone looking for a break away from busy life - fantastic location, charming cottages and friendly owners!||||
