I chose Blackwood & Smith to act in the winding up of my late father's estate as they had acted for him in the past and he was very happy with their service. I was glad I had done so as their service was excellent. They were friendly and efficient and always had the answers to my questions. I felt confident leaving matters in their hands. They kept me up to date with progress and gave us good advice, particularly tax advice, when we didn't even know we needed it! They also achieved a very good price for my father's house after a private sale fell through, which completely exceeded expectations. All in all they were a rock in a difficult time and, although I am glad matters have been concluded, I would have no hesitation in using them again.

Karen Valentine at Blackwood and Smith dealt with my late aunt's estate and I was extremely impressed with the service she provided. There were a large number of beneficiaries including 2 living abroad and a considerable number of companies to contact as part of the process. All the communications which I received were timely and very detailed and clear. When it became apparent that the winding up of the estate was taking longer than expected Karen arranged to make interim payments to all of the beneficiaries which was greatly appreciated. Karen's persistence in dealing with some of the larger well known Scottish companies and constantly checking that they had the correct details before accepting any repayments or invoices is to be admired.
