We hired BHW Solicitors expecting a professional and proactive service for our property transaction, but instead, we got empty promises, zero real advice, and a solicitor who did absolutely nothing to push things forward on our behalf.

From the start, they assured us they would handle everything smoothly and efficiently—what a joke! In reality, they were passive, unresponsive, and completely uninterested in protecting our interests. They never pushed the other side, never followed up on important issues, and left us completely in the dark. We had to chase them for every single update, only to receive vague and unhelpful responses.

To make matters worse, we paid for a solicitor, but the entire transaction was handled by a trainee who did nothing more than act as a postman—just passing messages back and forth without actually solving anything. This so-called “legal service” was nothing but a money-making scam. Everything was about squeezing more fees from us while providing the absolute bare minimum in return.

They provided no real legal guidance whatsoever. When issues arose, instead of offering solutions or fighting for us, they just sat back and waited, as if they were nothing more than an overpaid middleman. The whole process was painfully slow and stressful, and in the end, we felt like we had done most of the work ourselves.

If you want a solicitor who actually works for you rather than against you, stay far away from BHW Solicitors! They care only about your money, not your case.

Avoid it by all means.!!
I agreed to deal with them amide the information given to me by the developer claiming they are specialized in new development purchases.
Despite their high fees, I had an awful and very stressful time with them. They are all after money and once they get their fees, they will never reply to you
Furthermore, I’ve found they did not do their search properly, and when trying to contact them, nobody was bothered even to reply!!
AVOID BHW!!

I personally would not recommend BHW to anyone. I would give 0 stars if possible.
They caused nothing but problems during the process of selling my mums property.
It took asking to file a complaint for them to start following our instructions.
The first thing that highlighted the lack of interpersonal skills was when my mum informed them that she couldn't do a video call due to my dad (who was on end of life cancer care)had detiriated and would be unable to be present , the solicitors response was 'all he needs to do is be present and answer some questions' when my mum said no he is unable to do this her response was we will arrange for another day then. My dad passed away the following day.
The communication from then was awful, one would say and ask for one thing another would say no we didn't ask for that. It got to the point where we were hearing more from the estate agent and the buyers solicitor than we were BHW.
Another thing that really added insult was when they were refusing to follow our instructions and said they were covering our backs and that 'my dad may have had another wife and children' that wished to contest the house sale. Imagine being told this days after your husband of 45years has passed away.
An absolute appalling service that had caused so much stress at a time that it wasn't needed.
I strongly suggest finding another company to help with your house sale.

When buying our first house we switched to BHW after a poor service from another solicitor. The speed and efficiency that they progressed through the purchase was excellent. When one step of the process is going to take time, they make a start on the next step to ensure none of your time is wasted. Even when they realised they slightly over charged us (less than £50) they arranged to refund us, completely unprompted, which was very reassuring and has built my trust in them.
