We stayed at this hotel on a coach tour of the highlands. It is in a beautiful setting, but first impressions were not good. The entrance was very shabby and let down the rest of this well presented grand old hotel, with its ornate glass and chandeliers. Our room was comfortable and clean, with a modern bathroom and lovely toiletries. The dining room offered a good variety of food. It was well presented and the staff were very helpful. The only downside was the fixed meal times, which felt rushed, particularly as you have to get drinks in the bar to take to your table and it was always busy. Overall it was a lovely break.

Lovely place with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The building has character, and the town itself is full of charm. We stayed here during our journey to the NC500 and really enjoyed it. The room was spacious, spotless, and had a stunning view of the mountains. The bathroom had clearly been updated, with a modern, roomy shower. Breakfast was varied and tasty. Overall, a fantastic stay—would definitely return!

Lovely hotel, faded grandeur. My room was very clean with good shower and bath. Quality toiletries and usual but plenty tea, coffee and biscuits. Staff very helpful and friendly. Plenty parking spaces.
Excellent value for money.

The hotel staff are very friendly but the it needs work…the hotel from the outside is gorgeous but the inside is old and dated…my room the wall was chipped and scratched a fresh lick of paint was needed…all the furniture is super outdated…||The menus not very inventive and could do with a freshen up… also the breakfast was just bad…I don’t know anywhere you stay now that only offers filter coffee or tea (usually cappuccino etc on offer) the milk was already on my table with cling film on it and the jug was warm…the water on offer was warm as were the fruit juices…I went to look at the cooked option and it wasn’t very appealing then to it off with the plate to put it on had big fingerprint marks on it…not good!!! I was given toast which was cold and a little burnt! It generally wasn’t a good experience on the breakfast front.

Recently visited for a friends wedding and had a wonderful time! Stayed in a double room which had a comfortable bed and plenty of space to get ready for the big day.
Nice bar which good prices and the breakfast was great too.

Also shout out to Dara from the reception team who arranged to send me a personal belonging I accidentally left in the hotel room, really great customer service. Highly recommend!

We spent 4 nights here during our recent trip to Scotland with Newmarket Holidays. |The hotel was clean and tidy, albeit a bit old fashioned to what we are used to but it was very comfortable. The staff were lovely and very welcoming and couldn’t do enough to assist our group. Breakfast was buffet style with cereals, fruit and cooked Scottish breakfast, everything you needed to fuel up for the day ahead, and the 3-course evening meals were very tasty, using local produce, which was an added bonus. |The grounds were beautiful and the town itself had lots to see. Unfortunately for us, we didn’t have much time to enjoy this as our days were full of other exciting adventures. This is definitely a hotel that caters for coach parties as there were 3 groups when we were there as well as the usual travelers.|If we are in the area again we’d definitely consider calling in for a short stay.

Clean but definitely aging. Limited lift capacity, so many stairs to climb. Food was good. Room on top floor was ok, but the beds were terrible. Very soft, little support if you have back problems and while made ip daily, was very hurriedly done.
