I have used the free advice service and couldn't recommend it more highly for anyone trying to navigate the nightmare that is NHS CHC funding. They have given me really helpful advice at all stages of the process (having broken down my free help into 30 minute chunks so I didn't 'run out' on the first phonecall).
I have been appealing an NHS CHC funding decision, and they have been invaluable by phone and by email. I don't know yet if we will be successful in our appeal, but my letter is 100x more professional and well thought through thanks to their advice. They appear to all have a really solid background in the assessment process and understand all the complicated intricacies and twists and turns. They helped me understand just enough to have the confidence to fight back! Huge thanks to everyone I dealt with. If you're considering it, definitely do give them a try - literally nothing to lose!

We had used Beacon a few years ago and have had need of them again for a MDT (Mutli Disciplinary Team) assessment for approval of Care Home NHS funding for our Mother. If your NHS ICB (CHC) are assessing eligibility for your Heath Care funding you NEED Beacon to guide you through the maze and support your case. In our experience they are simply excellent. I found it difficult to get in touch in the first place. Eventually I managed to get half an hour's free advice on the phone. We went through the decision tool together and I found the advice very helpful. I used this advice to help formulate my appeal to overturn the original decision. I received a phone call today to say I have managed to overturn the decision. I await written confirmation. Thanks Beacon. Spoken to a gentleman called Bhavesh on three separate occasions. He has been nothing less than fantastic. His calm manner, clear analysis and simple guidance have enabled me to make key choices. Excellent free service. I have a self-funding relative who had to move from a care home to a nursing home as her needs increased. NHS/social services support and advice is minimal if you are self-funding - Beacon's advice was a great help as we navigated the maze of hospitals and nursing homes with and without CHC funding.
