Our mediation was scheduled via zoom with a lady named Tami. If you are selected her during your mediation I would suggest requesting another mediator. To begin her inability to work zoom off her computer was nothing short of a disaster during our mediation. She was late to the call, consistently dropped calls from both parties. After almost 2 hours our mediation finally began and I felt as if she was a strong representative for the defendants insurance company. It was our first time with a mediator and she knew absolutely nothing about our plaintiff side. So my wife had to relive a really bad experience. Only to be as precise as possible after 2 years of legal log jam. Myself knowing our Mediator’s zoom skills might be a reflection of her negotiating power to the other side which made me cringe. She would continuously talk our plaintiff side down in large increments only to score larger points with the defense. My wife had given an example of parties making offers in real estate, and her words were well in real estate it’s an “asset with value” which insinuated my wife’s case had no value. This was after her seeing one inaccurate med document from the defense side she proceeded to explain we barely had a case. At one instance (maybe she thought the call was muted) we got to hear of her scheduling/paying for a lunch date with our attorney and taking him to “chops in ATL”. I wonder if this is a common practice with professional mediators? So while my injured wife and I are fighting for penny’s on the dollar for her injuries our mediator is scheduling lunch dates with attorneys that pay for her service? If mediation is to resolve and find a middle ground she failed at this too from my opinion. I hope to anyone reading this you do not get her mediation service in the future! Sorry for the unkind but truthful words, and I’m sure this company has good mediators but our experience with Tami was not!
