Update 27th Aug '24 - 100s of miles travelled, only to find the Sedbergh Store Permanently Shut 😭

Once more, we're on our travels back home to Scotland in the car, 600 miles later we decided to pop by the HQ store to top up on a few things...only to find a notice on the door saying the store is permanently shut and the nearest is now Kirkby Lonsdale, 11 miles south of Sedbergh...just the direction we traveled from on the M6! If I'd known the HQ store had been closed in advance, I'd never have gone to Sedbergh, but Kirkby Lonsdale directly instead 🤷‍♀️

Indecision setting in fast, I was about to throw in the towel and just forget about the whole thing, and just order online when I get home....but being on holiday, we were in no rush and finally decided to double back to Kirkby Lonsdale....

Got to the store in the beautiful town, with a most helpful store assistant and bought a bunch of things to bring back home to Scotland.

As much as I love the BH brand and products, there should be a clear notice on their website - under their store listings and perhaps Google - regarding the Sedbergh store being permanently closed. It would have saved me a lot of frustration and heartache - after 100s of miles of travelling in the car - only to get there, and having to double back to the next nearest branch 🙁

Great brand, but knocking a couple of stars off for lack of notice on the store closure and having to double back in the car from where we came from.

Brilliant! A late review but visited here back in 2019 before lockdown took over our lives. On the way home to Scotland from the south of England, we popped by here, just a few miles off the M6. I've always been a fan of their artisan perfumes - they are gorgeous! Always bought online, but on this trip it was great to see the workshop, and their modern contemporary store to make a few purchases in person. Love their stuff. It is pricey, but worth every penny spent. A brilliant treat or they make fabulous gifts.
I hope to return sometime in the future if we're down that way again. In the meantime, it will just be purchases online. 10/10

We stumbled across this place on a trip to Ambleside, I was amazed by the secection of fragrances. I would firmly recommend this place, it nice to find good aftershaves that aren't mass produced, this give you something unique at a very reasonable price. We we're served by a very nice lady called Anna and as a direct result of her service my other half came back 10 minutes later a purchased a bottle perfume for herself as well.

I've bought bath house products for nearly ten years, but you lost a customer today.I popped into the ilkley branch and first the woman (previous staff in Ilkley were lovely, btw) told me off for smelling things, telling me I had to smell the paper strips which were nowhere near the product I was looking at - I sniffed the strip I'd just sniffed in the bottle and it was nothing like.
But here's the thing - you sell smelly stuff, no one drops £18 on a small bottle of shower gel without smelling it
. Then she was aggressively helpful and failed to read the "sod off and let me shop on my own" vibe I was strongly giving off because absolutely no one ever likes the hard sell.
I almost walked out then, but I decided I really wanted the fig and amber shower gel, and on my way to the till I picked the the large perfume of the same. Then she took the gel I'd picked and said "I'll get a different one because people sniff these" Yes, I know, I just sniffed it when she was dealing with another customer, it's a smelly things shop, people are going to sniff no matter how often you tell them not to, you know that, I know that, so why treat the ones on the shelves as samples if you aren't going to let people sample sniff!?! Only to be told you no longer take cash. I almost paid on my debit card without thinking, but then realised that If I did I wouldn't enjoy my shower gel because the customer service was leaving a sour taste. I had cash set aside for a treat, how I spend my money should be my choice. So I walked out and I honestly don't think I'll ever walk in again.

I have been 'blown away' by the excellence of the service from the Bath House,
My granddaughter asked for the white tea and rose perfume, unfortunately it is out of stock at present, but the effort, time and patience which has gone in to achieving this for her has been UNBELIEVABLE.
The service is second to none, my faith in business restored.

Stopped here by chance. I had just researched making soap and was aware of an ingredient derived from palm oil which is used in soap. I spoke with Gareth and he was very knowledgeable about.what they use. Everything is sustainable and the packaging is produced locally. Another local company I will be supporting. 🙂
