Barnsdales do not even deserve 1 star, how is this company still operating I ask myself.

They manage a block of apartments I live in (I say manage very loosely).

• The fire alarm was going off for over 24 hours, when I and other residents called out of hours, we were told they couldn’t do anything as the budget didn’t cover an out of hours call so call the fire brigade.
• The vehicle gate was stuck shut, I rang the out of hours, no answer so called the company director, I had their details from a previous complaint I had made, I was advised they couldn’t get hold of anyone either and could I just walk instead.
• The vehicle gate got stuck shut again, I rang out of hours, no answer so called again and selected a different option hoping someone would answer, a male answered, I tried to explain I lived at a block and the gate was stuck shut, I was told ā€˜it’s the weekend we are closed call back Monday’ they then put the phone down.
• The property manager for the block told one of the directors of the apartment block that he was ignoring my emails ā€˜on purpose’ because I was a nuisance, do the job you are being paid to do, that’s all I ask.
• All windows do not get cleaned; they miss my 2 small side windows and only clean half the windows above the juliette balcony.
• The communal cleaners don’t turn up when they should or clean what they should, asking them to mop a tiled floor is an inconvenience as they don’t have a mop with them.
• The bike store is full of bindweed so is not functionable, I was promised several years ago this would be made functionable, when I first had access to the bike store it was piled high with broken bikes and kid’s toys.
• Lights internal and external are not working and haven’t been for sometimes.
• A fire door survey was carried out on the 7th July 2022, some residents received a letter advising if their door had passed or failed, some didn’t. When requesting their letter was told it’s been sent to them via post so if you haven’t received it that’s not our problem. A further fire door survey took place on the 23rd July 2025, why? You don’t follow it through and assist residents on the next steps.

I could go on and on, but I think you get what I am trying to say.

I could name and shame but that would be unnecessary plus I have never spoken to one member of staff that has been pleasant or helpful.

I see many reviews have been responded to advising to contact a certain person so they can investigate, save your time, you will only receive a rude response, protecting his staff when he and them clearly do not have a clue.

Got a few friends and family renting through barnsdale and what can I say apart from the communication is Zero communication family been chasing repairs and still no response or when get response get told they will get back to them just seems to be in it for money as doubt they sorting the repairs as reading some other reviews no repairs been done wouldn’t reccomend avoid at all costs

Dont really deserve a 1 star if could give a 0 I would they don’t do anything for clients and people they got living in properties got friends in one of there properties and house is falling apart and all they keep getting is it will be reported and sorted that’s been same for last year disgrace of a company, avoid at all costs seems to be multiplied people renting through them with same issues

Been trying to get a response from them and it is just not happening! Would not recommend! If i could give minus 10 for service and cooperation i would. Maybe i need to ask the Police for help as Barnsdales maybe acting unlawfully!!!

Communication is appalling. There is an automated switchboard but frequently, none of the options are answered. I was quoted a figure of £1500 for the marketing of a property by the agent who attended, which I accepted. I was then issued with an "initial marketing" invoice for £780 which was in addition to the £1500 ! I told them that I was not accepting this additional invoice and cancelled the agreement. The company then sent me an invoice for £600 cancellation fee ! Unsurprisingly, I am refusing to pay this. Terrible company. Avoid at all costs!

The problem was solved by the office manager. Thank you!

Absolutely shocking company would not recommend. Tried to contact them for over a week regarding a lease and all it does is ring and ring. Surely customer service should be better I gave up in the end - lost out on a business lease!!

Moved out from a property managed by them on 11 July. Ended up with a bill of £429 on electric and gas beeing used from August and folowing months. Get in touch with them to sort out the issue and i haven't recieved no response. Ended up with report affecting badly my credit score. Next step will be a proper official complaint at designated institution against them.
