i used APL Lawerys when i purchased a house back in April, as they were recommended by Reeds and Reins in Durham, i wished they had not.

i asked them to suggest a property surveyor nobody got back to me.

I moved in to the property back in April where i have had major issues with the house, i was assured by Charlene in Reeds and Reins estate agent that the bathroom will be completed. the day got my keys to the house, i was informed that the windows were smashed in, and they would be sorted. My neighbours informed me that the windows had been smashed in for several months.

A month after i moved in the kitchen ceiling caved in because the bathroom had not been finished off properly. I went back to APL asking for help but they looked at it and a week later told me to get stuffed. since then i have found out that the electrics are really dangerous, the fuse box is made of plastic, and is housed in a cupboard made of combustable materials. there are pairs of wires, platted together and not placed into any of the fuses. this is a GLENFELL waiting to happen.
I am still waiting for the deeds to be sent to me by post as i have been here now for 6 months.

My conveyancer who did the majority of the work, retired at the end of may but in September i received an email sent using her name. _ that is illegal and misrepresentation.

I hope readers will see this and not go to APL to help them to buy or to sell a house, both reeds and reins estate agent and APL conspired to take all of my inheritance with allowing this house sale to go through, I am disabled and have no money to put this right. I hope people see this and take any form of action against APL and Reeds and Reins estate agents in Durham

Would avoid this company at all costs. Everyone around us paid around £1800 for solicitors fees when moving into their first home… A P Lawyers quoted us this exact price, which then continued to snowball, with many ‘additional fees’, meaning we ended up paying £3700. Our no chain purchase took 5 months to complete, we were estimated 8-12 weeks originally. We would have to chase daily for any kind of update, and didn’t get a response for sometimes 2 weeks. Appalled with their service.

Completely wonderful from start to finish. Eras Talat was friendly, kept us informed, and worked extremely quickly. As first-time buyers we were a little unsure about the whole process, but their online portal let us quickly see exactly how far through things we’d progressed and what we should expect next - it was a huge help. The team kept us informed personally, too, and came back to us quickly in response to any questions we had. Thank you so much to the whole team and Eras Talat in particular, for making our purchase proceed so quickly and smoothly. We highly recommend APL and would use them again without question. The only thing that could be better would be the fees and pricing. Eras is a star ?

Avoid this company at all costs if you value your time and money. From start to finish the level of service and communication was appalling. I had to constantly chase my solicitor to get anything done. Could never get through on the phone, calls went to voicemail, emails would be ignored, I had to raise an official complaint to get a manager to respond.
To top it off, 1 month after moving into my property I receive a penalty notice from HMRC for late filing of paperwork! Get your self a local reputable solicitor and avoid!

AVOID AT AL COSTS!!!!! They are the worst company. My conveyacor got changed 3 times. NEIL had to be the worst one (thank god he left) could never get a hold of him. He never answered any emails either. Overall communication was horrendous. They prolonged everything, it took over a year to close my deal!!! In the process my mortgage offer expired. They also overcharged me ridiculously. Please read all the reviews they have so many negative reviews… I do want to say Sheraz and Elenor was the only ones that was helpful and polite and easier to communicate with.

Appalling service, good luck getting any response or updates. You must chase daily or even hourly to get anything so our no chain purchase took close to 6 months due to AP Lawyers after being advised 8-12 weeks. Don’t bother getting a quote as it will drastically change over time, our £1800 quite soon turned to £3700… they seem to add fees with no reason at every given moment.
Avoid at all costs!!

I was recommended to use APL by my Mortgage broker. My conveyancer was Matthew Jowett. I would like to say a huge thank you to Matthew with the amazing service, positive attitude and commitment towards the sale of my property. The services we received as a first time buyer, the support & guidance, the education of each step with Matthew explaining to me everything was exemplary. I was able to reach Matthew any time I needed to speak to him and the colleagues in APL have been fantastic to update me as well. Matthew always provided me updates and communication was fantastic! I will definitely use APL services again and will highly recommend anyone to use APL. Thank you once again for everything Matthew it has been a pleasure to work with you.

The sale of my flat took 8 months, it was a long strenuous and stressful journey. Throughout this process I had 4 conveyancers from Advantage Property Lawyers… First one being Sidrah Fatimah who was quickly changed to Sultana Khanam who was terribly bad, she made me lost so many months and money (costs for property valuation reports, no follow-ups, etc etc) and even hang up on me multiple times over the phone… APL never offered me any compensation for this poor level of service regrettably. The third was named Matthew Jowett but was quickly changed to Sana Arif.
My case was complicated due to the Buyer side being very demanding and constantly challenging the information we provided, along with 2 management companies and HCA (Help To Buy) to deal with. My experience with APL was extremely poor up until Sana took on my case. Her professionalism, communication and experience to deal with the situation we were in was very reassuring. Sana was available and kept updating me through the various steps. Sana got the sale of my flat over the line when at times we thought we would lose the Buyer. I would confidently recommend Sana’s services, and Sana’s alone, to sell/buy anyone’s property.
