I have known Charlotte Adler of Adler Family Law for 12 years. She acted for me during my divorce. I found her to be a very thorough, sharp and knowledgeable lawyer. She could speed-read documents accurately at an alarming pace, which meant that the time charged was kept to a minimum, and it also meant that my case progressed as quickly as possible. I found that her fees were reasonable compared to other firms, especially considering the high level of service she provided. She was also always available to answer any questions I had, and she always rang me back if I left a message.

Charlotte is very well connected to the best law Chambers, and consequently she was able to engage with equally brilliant barristers and a QC who dealt superbly with my case. Together they were a formidable team and it was obvious that they worked well together, and had done so on many previous occasions. This was very reassuring to me.

Charlotte was very conciliatory in her approach without being a pushover, and she always acted with the utmost integrity. She guided me through what was a very difficult process with kindness and great professionalism. She gave fantastic advice regarding my children and visitation with their father. I felt that she kept my children’s interests at the forefront of all the negotiations, and she had the ability to see the greater picture when we were bogged down in the minutiae of the process.

I never wish to go through a divorce again, but should I ever find myself in that unfortunate position, then I would have no hesitation in re-engaging Charlotte’s services. I have recommended her to at least a dozen people who have all been equally happy with her services. I cannot recommend Charlotte highly enough, she is a high caliber, and excellent solicitor and she will get you through the awful process of divorce quickly and effectively.

I engaged the services of Charlotte Adler and the team at Adler Family Law back in 2018, when I found myself in the unfortunate situation of a messy divorce from my ex who has a narcissist personality disorder. Prior to this I had naively thought I could achieve a divorce amicably via mediation or by use of a McKenzie Friend - however the money spent with Adler Family Law and the wonderful Barristers they engaged with was worth every pound. The divorce process itself is protracted and painful - add to that the court delays due to Covid, and the deliberate stalling and coercive behaviour from an Ex and the whole experience was one I would never wish on anyone - however without Adler Family Law at the helm - I could not have got through it. I have recommended Charlotte to several people since then and will continue to do so. She is efficient, intelligent, experienced and articulate and I would definitely call on her services again if I needed advice!

I have a lot to say about this company but am only permittted to add one review, so it will be fairly lengthy. I am writing this review as executor to my late husband’s estate. He had engaged Charlotte Adler to represent him in our divorce. Almost 6 months after the death of my husband, I received an invoice from Charlotte for £2,151.60, around £670 of this was for work carried out as my husband lay dying in hospital and after his death.

In a one-month period, Charlotte had itemised 46 items to add to the bill, despite my husband already paying her £3000 on the first day of this period. However, when a solicitor took a look, he had 14 questions to raise about the bill. This was so worrying that I requested copies of the previous invoices. Charlotte has refused to answer these questions due to confidentiality restrictions, but has offered to reduce the bill by £351.60 on condition that I pay within 14 days and do not launch an official complaint about her.

Charlotte claims to specialise in “high value matrimonial finance” but we are not a wealthy family; a reasonably large very low spec heavily mortgaged house in an expensive area, we would have been lucky to both afford a small flat each after the assets were split. My husband contracted and his job was not secure. He was very depressed and an easy target. This was an uncontested divorce with no custody issues; I would question whether he really needed the services of the partner in this practice. As far as I can see, he has been charged well over £10,000 (nearly a year of my salary) and we didn’t make it to a hearing, I dread to think what this would have cost us on completion.

(Previous review).This is my first ever Google review; I don’t normally feel the need to share, but this is an exception. I am acting the only executer to my late husband's estate; he had engaged Charlotte as his solicitor. Following a complaint to Adler Family Law, on which I am still awaiting any progress nearly 2 weeks later, I happened upon a review on Google which closely reflected my experience, leaving me feeling somewhat vindicated. Imagine my surprise when this review mysteriously disappeared a few days later, only to reappear, closely followed by another 1* review.
Interesting.
Then, in addition to Charlotte’s 5* review of her own company (tut-tut, ‘conflict of interest’ and definitely not allowed) there follows, in very quick succession, 4 more 5* reviews. Strangely enough, three of these eloquently written reviews, are apparently from lawyers. What are the chances?
I am not in the legal profession, but would think that the Chamber’s UK reviews, of which Ms Adler appears to be very proud, on her website, are of significance. With a little digging, however, it is apparent that Chamber’s UK is a subscription service to which solicitors provide their own referees. Make of that what you will.
I, for one, am eagerly awaiting the next installment (and a response to my complaint).
