Terrible treatment of a bereaved family
Complete ambivalence towards our feelings.
Very evasive when trying to contact this company.
Total lack of coherence between departments within this firm.
This company was chosen to deal with the sale of the our inherited house because my late Aunt had used this firm for her last will and testament.
We thought it'd make sense to keep all the legal affairs under one roof for simplicity and to hopefully keep costs down.
Has this happened ? No, quite the opposite.
I feel compelled to write this review after one of the firm's supposed senior partners, Glennie Mckinley has just hung up on me rather than explain why 18 months after my Aunts death letters are still being sent to the deceased for her to sign in order for her will to be executed. I was told it was not her problem despite her acknowledging the distress this was causing to my 85 year old Mother who lives in a perpetual state of fear that she'll die before D B Law are able provide any kind of closure on this matter.
After 18 months without an update and all attempts at communication from us and the will's executor assiduously avoided, who can blame her.
The levels of incompetence are staggering with no one willing take responsibility.
As a result of the delays and a refusal to listen the concerns of the executor and family members left in the will we are now facing the prospect of the young family buying the house having to pull out of the arrangement.
Needless to say we've now had to instruct our own solicitors to look into the possibility of recovering any anticipated losses caused by this negligence, which given the current market conditions could exceed £50k.
We are beginning to suspect that more than incompetence is at play here.
Who benefits from this elapsed time ? Not the will's beneficiaries, quite the contrary.
Who banks the interest on the estate whilst these delays continue ?
What are we to think with no transparency or communication ?
The Legal Ombudsman for England and Wales has also been contacted.
There seems to be lots of photos on social media virtue signalling and celebrating the firms charitable endeavours which is all very admirable but if a fraction of that time and effort was spent on the people that were actually paying them to get results there'd be no need for reviews such as this.
They look to be enjoying themselves though, that's the main thing.
Please be warned at engaging this companies services.
If our experience is anything to go by you'll regret it.
Go to a professional firm instead.
Use at your own peril.

Update. Six months on.
The house has been sold, renovated and the new buyers moved in and good luck to them
Three months later and none of the solicitors at DB will even return our calls let alone inform us of when our inheritance will be settled.
Obviously DB law are maximising the interest they stand to receive by delaying settlement.
Any reputable firm would have at least sorted an interim payment at this juncture rather than make excuses of insignificant electricity bills having to paid before the beneficiaries can be paid.
In the meantime interest is accruing and being pocketed by
DB Law.
We feel violated, as though we've been mugged.
Scammers.

We recently used Chris at DBLaw in Camborne for conveyvancing services on the sale of our property. The service was excellent, clarifications were dealt with promptly. It took just two months to go from offer accepted to exchange and completion.

Ringing up stressed out about not seeing my wonderful son for nearly 5 years to which im told to "SHUT UP" down the phone. I never spoke to my solicitor once so wasn't even sure who i was speaking to when i got on the phone. Extremely unprofessional, telling me im shouting, no, i was stressed out and child solicitors should be trained to know that along with their receptionists. A huge complaint is incoming and im taking it further for negligence. If you're a man, id stay well away, they clearly have an issue with men and can't tell the difference to being stressed at a situation compared to having an issue with an individual. My pal at mishcon in Holborn London will be looking at your misconduct. Disgusting behaviour from people i was paying to be on my side. Joke of a solicitors in camborne of all places.

Toni at the Redruth branch of DB Law took over the sale and purchase of property and land for us. Toni was thorough, friendly, efficient, down to earth and really good at communicating. It was just what we needed after our previous conveyancer experience, and a breath of fresh air - I can't recommend them enough.
