We needed a topographical survey produced and after asking around, Spatial Dimension were recommended. We are not experts in surveys so didn't really know what to ask for. However, interacting with Spatial Dimension was straightforward. They went out of their way to explain different approaches and options and took time to listen and clarify our requirements. The onsite survey itself was completed in a day, far faster then we anticipated, and they then produced accurate plan and section drawings that were easy to read with comprehensive symbols and spot heights related back to the OS Datum. A good experience for us 'amateurs', from a technically very competent and customer focussed Survey Company.

We have recently started using Spatial Designs to carry out Topo Surveys for our Garden Design projects and have been thoroughly impressed! Not only are their prices very competitive, but their organisation and communication from start to finish is excellent, we always know when they surveyors are attending site and when we can expect the survey back, which really helps for us to be able to plan our design schedule. within an architectural practice. we need good and accurate surveys. when its a BIM model, geometry needs to be the correct BIM category to allow us to correctly filter / control what we want to see in view and schedule. Items need to be correctly phased as well.

Spatial Dimensions are one of the few I've come across that deliver on this every time. Many surveyors don't know how to model in revit so they use other programs, convert the geometry. bring it over to revit. end up killing the model as the geometry brought over is too big (interms of memory / usually lots of polygons). They also follow good practice. where possible items are properly modelled as families or using the system tools within revit. not many if any model in place elements which can add to model size. Everything is correctly phased as well. Always properly geolocated (so many struggle with this in revit). couldn't ask for more than that having being let down by so many other companies. Note I'm a BIM manager that has been doing this approx 20 years and i can count on one hand the number of surveyors that get this right.
