I am writing to provide some long-overdue feedback regarding a property purchase that I completed through your agency last year. At the time, I did not have the opportunity to submit a review, but i hope the feedback here will be taken constructively and used to improve future service. As a property investor who has worked with various agents over the years, I was unfortunately quite disappointed with the overall handling of a recent family purchase.While Nigel, the agent who initially showed me the property, was absolutely fantastic , professional, knowledgeable, and courteous, the rest of the process was far from smooth. Communication throughout the transaction was minimal at best; I found myself constantly having to chase for updates rather than being proactively informed. In fact, most of the progression work seemed to be initiated by me, which should not be the case when working with a professional agent.

To make matters worse, I later learned that your team had made comments to my solicitors suggesting that I had been rude. I have worked with my solicitors for many years and they were quick to inform me of this, which I appreciated. Regardless of how one may perceive client behaviour, I feel it is completely unprofessional for an agent to express personal opinions to third parties, especially when the real issue was a lack of service and transparency from your side.

There were also significant delays with the tenant vacating the property initially expected to leave in June, but eventually leaving in August with little to no explanation or updates provided along the way. I was left in the dark at every stage, and the lack of communication made a frustrating situation even more stressful.

On the day of completion, I attempted to call the office to arrange a time to collect the keys, only to find it had already been closed. Thankfully, someone from your Kingston branch (if I recall correctly) was kind enough to step in, contact the team, and ensure that someone met me to hand over the keys. I am extremely grateful for their help. However, after all that, the keys were simply handed to me without any envelope, documentation, or even a polite handover. While not a huge issue on its own, it added to an already disappointing experience.

Overall, while I am pleased with the property purchase itself, the service provided by your team fell well below the professional standard I expect and have experienced elsewhere. As someone who invests in property regularly, I hope this feedback will be taken as constructive criticism. There is a real opportunity here for Gascoigne-Pees to improve its client communication, internal coordination, and professionalism moving forward. Had I received regular updates throughout the process , not found the office closed when I arrived to collect the keys , and not heard that unprofessional comments had been made , my view of the experience would have been entirely different .
