I’ve had my son here, and the birthing experience was excellent. The support for breastfeeding and mental health was fantastic - the staff were caring and attentive every step of the way. I’ve also had abscess drained here twice over the years, and each time the care and skill of the team were outstanding. I truly appreciate how professional and compassionate everyone is. In my opinion, this is a great hospital that genuinely looks after its patients!

Attended the eye unit for a skin tag removal on my eyelid. The healthcare assistant Adam was extremely friendly and made me feel so comfortable, absolutely brilliant at his job. The doctor who did my removal to unfortunately can not remember his name, was very informative welcoming and quick no fuss made which I like! Good waiting time also

Worst experience of my life! There for 10 hours on Saturday and then back on Monday in terrible pain and waited 19 hours in A&E and in SDEC waiting room. In absolute agony and just left to sit in agony on a hard chair and so nauseous (I was given pain relief once) as the gynaecology department couldn’t be bothered to come down. Eventually when they did the lady was lovely but still a waiting game. No communication, the nurses had no idea what was going on. I was pushed from department to department. I sat in the room at 3:20pm while the doctor initially called the gynae department and the senior doctor acted like I was an inconvenience and that he did not have time for me. I think they eventually came down at 12am. But that was only after the lovely Junior sister chased them up. I will NEVER go there again. Some of the staff are extremely rude and have no care. Speak to you like rubbish and that you are an inconvenience and wasting their time. Thank goodness for the absolute Angel Junior sister Eloise or Eloisa. If it wasn’t for her and her kind and caring manner and actually advocating for patients I don’t know what I would have done! She helped me so much! We also had a Doctor the first time we went to A&E named Joaqium, he was honestly amazing and really cared about his patients! But besides those two awesome people the experience was hell! Oh and let’s not forget the super rude reception staff.

We know the NHS is under pressure, but two really positive experiences recently. One in A&E 2 weeks ago and then again today in the fracture clinic. Staff Nurse Caroline was amazing, caring and kept everything flowing. Orthopaedic Technician Shelby was fantastic and so professional. Shamsi in X-ray was very polite and helpful. And Mr McLatchie (?) the Orthopaedic surgeon was very efficient and explained all options. Beautiful set-up. So impressed.

I’m honestly shocked by how terrible my experience was at Block E, Maternity Ward. The doctor and the receptionist were unbelievably rude, cold, and careless. They treated patients like we don’t matter at all. Pregnant women come here scared and in pain — the least they deserve is kindness and respect. Instead, I saw arrogance and zero compassion. It broke my heart to see how they talk to people. This kind of behavior is unacceptable, and management should seriously take action. I would never recommend anyone to go here — it was one of the worst experiences ever.

I was advised on 24 June 25 by 111 to attend the hospital as I had what may have been an infected wound. I arrived at the hospital at 8pm, which is not the best time. I was told that I would have to wait a long time by the Reception staff in A&E, but when one talks about. a long time it's a question of how long a piece of string is. I heard staff advising some patients that the average waiting time was 7 hours. I could live with that but not double the amount. I had asked staff 2-3 times when I would be seen but not one member of staff called my name to go for consultation or treatment although some of those who were being treated were being so for what seemed like hours before returning to the waiting area. At 7am the next morning I fell asleep in the waiting area because I had been up for the previous 27 hours with only the odd 2 minute sleep. When I awoke at around 09.45, only one person who had been there before I went to sleep was still there; and she quickly went afterwards. No-one that you could call a member of staff seemed bothered with the idea that I could have been waiting in vain for an abnormal amount of time, when others who came in a long time after I had were dealt with almost at the drop of a hat. It honestly makes you feel insignificant when no-one seems to care after that's the whole point of going there. I decided to leave after 14 hours when I had become disillusioned with the fact that I felt virtually ignored, and that I could have waited another 14 hours and no-one may have questioned why.

Unless youre dying. They wont give you any treatment. I saw a lady who was 5 weeks pregnant and came to the A & E due to heavy bleeding. It looked like a miscarriage and none of the staff even seem to care. The receptionist lady just waived her off asking her to wait 7 hours and that she was not a health professional. Unbelievable how easy it is for her to say that as a woman. Hope karma comes around for her

Shambles .. never seen anything like it 3 receptionist who ask no questions and tell you to stand in a que for triage ... on my visit went around the waiting room .. whilst the same receptionist just laugh eat sweets and add no help to general running of the front area ... I was brought in on an ambulance given pain killers then waited 5hrs to be seen . And a further 4hrs for any results.. I appreciate this country is over subscribed but never as I'm able will I return to this hospital...
