I’ve worked with Battrick Clark twice now for property transactions, and I can’t recommend them highly enough. On both occasions, they’ve been professional, efficient, and incredibly communicative.

In my most recent purchase and sale, Emma, who managed the bulk of the conveyancing, was outstanding. She was always ready to answer questions and stayed proactive throughout what became quite a frustrating transaction due to the buyer’s solicitors.

We also worked with Raquel, who provided valuable guidance, handled our matter with care, explained our options clearly, and ensured our needs were addressed precisely.

Thanks to Emma, Raquel, and the whole team at Battrick Clark, we felt reassured and well-supported throughout. Their expertise and commitment to excellent service are evident, and I would not hesitate to work with them again or recommend them to others.

Whilst the team at Battrick are nice, respectful, and professional. My experience was very poor when purchasing a house using them, from multiple admin errors including on addresses, and amounts on forms, leaving me finding it very hard to trust them.

It consistently felt like my emails were ignored, when they were responded to, often it would seem like they hadn't read what I'd written.

A poor job was done controlling the process leading to it feeling like myself and the sellers Estate agent of all people had to take the reigns.

There was very little clarity or specificity provided around dates and next steps.

Update: It was fully resolved, by ignoring most of the issues I raised in the complaint.

Engaging the services of Ruth (and Claudia) for my flat purchase was an experience that I believe needs to be shared, as I encountered issues with communication and transparency.
Initially, communication was satisfactory, with prompt responses to my queries. However, as time passed and we approached the end of purchase, communication began to falter. Delays in replies to my emails became common, and promises of updates by the end of the day went unfulfilled. Additionally, I was misled about the sellers' responses still pending when they had already been received.

After I signed the contract, transferred the deposit, and paid all the fees, there was more than a week-long silence from Ruth, leaving me unsure about the progress of the purchase and what steps to take next even if I sent her numerous emails. The estate agent even reached out, unable to get a hold of Ruth. I found myself constantly chasing for updates, lacking the proactive follow-up necessary from their end.

And to add to the frustration, the invoice amount did not align with the initial quote provided. Till date, no satisfactory explanation has been given as to why the final amount exceeded the original quote. I just know that I ended up paying three times the quoted price due to their repeated failure to conduct ID checks properly, despite me submitting the same documents each time.

If I were to require legal services again in the future, I would definitely seek assistance elsewhere rather than return to Battrick Clark Solicitors.

Initially I was frustrated with the constant questions and once the reasons and challenges were explained to me by Andrea it became clearer.
I do think some personal contact with the conveyancer would be beneficial as it can be very impersonal initially. It can also make you feel frustrated and that they are working against you rather than with you.
