We use Avalara to manage our EU tax for a large online platform in various countries in the EU. 6 months ago we clanged Registered address in tghe UK and then asked avalara to get our address details updated in 3 EU countries. To their credit, 2 countries were done within a few months. However, the details for Germany were not updated until I got in touch with the specific tax office myself. I actually spoke to the tax office after my email to them, and as a result, the details were updated.

The issue for me is that I don't have a written confirmation for this. This confirmation is something I urgently need.

Avalara don't come back to me and don't seem interested in chasing this up.

Its become business critical now.

I used to think Avalara were quite good. However, such is the importance of this issue, which they don't seem to 'get' I find myself compelled to write a very negative review about them.

As far as I am concerned, they don't seem to care and I would not advise folk to trust them.

Working with them is a waste of time! As simple as that. You can not even talk to them after you sign contract because each time you are forwarded to a new person that doen't know what the problem is. They take month to reply to a simple email

I use them for Amazon FBA and am generally happy. You can reach them by phone and they try to solve problems. Sad to see them part ways with Amazon.

If you want to wait for months, you can use Avalara. If you want to save your business, use a reputable provider. I started applying for VAT numbers via Avalara 5 months ago, most of the time nothing happened, there were constant "system breakdowns" and after almost daily inquiries, the applications were sent months later. Avalara can ruin your business, so stay away.

Don't use Avalara and Amazon's VAT service. I just switched to use Amazon VAT filing service and the service provider is Avalara. Terrible service is already overstated. There is no service at all. Even during transit period, I have issue with " Additional VAT Report" and have issue with DE VAT filing ( by the way, Avalara changed our DE quarterly filing to monthly filing without our consent." I sent emails to customer support... no reply at all. I think Avalara's strategy is to use low price killing all competitors and then let customers DIY in their so-called system. I don't mind DIY, but the lack of support for seller without an accounting background and international vat experience is impossible to make it right.... I write this review to let the other EU sellers know my experience.

This company has no idea, lost us 5000 euro in VAT, they told us they were applying in Spain for 2 years with many excuses but finally turns out we had to apply in Ireland. Their employees are like the fast food chain of VAT refurns, just expect invoices every month and not much else
