The Market Design and Build recently completed a rear extension for us, turning three awkward, underused rooms into a beautiful open-plan kitchen-diner. They also added a separate lounge/TV room, a downstairs WC, and renovated our upstairs bathroom.
From the start, the team were helpful, responsive, and flexible. Their architect guided us through multiple design revisions, and even a last-minute reworking of the kitchen layout was handled smoothly. We were also supported through planning and party wall agreements, which helped ease the process.
While we weren’t obligated to go ahead with them for the build, their pricing was very competitive, and we’re glad we chose to proceed. Raman, our site manager, was a pleasure to work with—always available and quick to resolve issues. We also had a WhatsApp group for communication and direct access to the leadership team.
At one point, a neighbour submitted an objection to the council that temporarily halted the works. It was stressful, but the team handled the situation calmly and professionally. Despite this, they still finished the build on schedule.
The finish and overall build quality are excellent—solid, well-executed work that really stands out. It’s evident in the final product and in the photos. Importantly, the team have continued to be responsive and helpful post-completion, promptly addressing any snagging issues that have arisen.
We highly recommend The Market Design and Build for their professionalism, responsiveness, and collaborative approach. They made a potentially stressful experience feel well-managed and positive from beginning to end.

The team, particularly James, Peter, and Bryan, was incredibly supportive throughout the entire process, taking the time to truly understand what we wanted to achieve for our dream kitchen extension.

Good end product from MDB for approx 50sqm wraparound extension and full house refurb, from design through to build. Helpful and insightful intervention from James on a design point which got it through planning, regular good ideas from Kam the foreman on ways to improve the build, and Hamael always contactable to resolve issues. I've used MDB on a prior house loft extension, I think key is to keep close to the daily progress of the build and ensure key decisions aren't made without your consultation. I found generally if things do go wrong along the way, MDB resolve them.
