We booked (as a couple) a stay as a last minute Wowcher deal, what a deal it was and great value for money to try the hotel out! I feel that the hotel has been unfairly raterd across the various platforms. It is at least 4*. The staff make this experience, they seem to enjoy their job and put their all into. Keep hold of them Best Western! A rare experience in todays hospitality market! Good people are hard to come by. |Food was good, yes some rooms are a little dated - but does it actually matter? They are clean and comphy. The lounge area in the hotel and grounds (weather dependent) are nice. Good location to explore the area. Hotel parking is free which is good (ask at the desk firstly). Beds are comphy too. I need this duvet at home! |Thank you for the micro break. 😊

Stayed one night after flying into Liverpool and delaying the 6 hour journey home. Reception good and checked in quickly. Double room was very small but clean and comfortable. Main problem was no where to put our bags without blocking the door or falling over them. Breakfast was excellent- hot and cold buffet but could have been better with fresh tea and coffee.

The hotel itself was okay! The entrance is lovely and so is the garden area etc. parking is free you just pop your reg plate in when you check in, simple. Easy check in. The hotel however you can tell is a bit dated and could do with some modernising. Our room was fairly nice. Bathroom was modernised and room was decent, smaller double bed and mattress was a bit hard but not too bad. ||||What lacked for me was cleanliness, there was quite a bit of dust everywhere. The bathroom tiles had some mould/damp so you could see they weren’t cleaned properly. The bin was rusty and scuffed and there was no toilet brush?||||Our shampoo holder was broken, meant to be fixed to the wall but you could tell it had broken off. The drain in the shower kept clogging and when we removed the plug to see the state it was very dirty and groggy. Our iron broke when my partner used it and leaked everywhere but we reported this and got it replaced right away and dealt with. The dust inside and behind the wardrobe was crazy bad. We lost our keycard and when we moved furniture to try and find it we realised how bad it really was. ||||All the staff we dealt with were friendly and welcoming so no issues they’re just a shame the cleaners don’t care enough as this ruins the feel of the hotel. ||||It also states on the sheet with hotel info that your room won’t get cleaned unless you stay for 5 or more days due to covid? I think this is dated and lazy now as everywhere else is standard to replace towels, sheets etc especially now that masks and everything are no longer needed. Luckily we only stayed two nights. ||||All in all, it’s decent but has its faults.

We stayed here for 1 night. Lovely hotel lovely staff problem with our TV in our room we was moved straight away to another room. Dinner was lovely all fresh and hot which makes a change when you get to a hotel. Breakfast was a full continental style fry up was blooming delicious. The staff went above and beyond to help out especially the little things like learning my sons name and having a laugh with him. Makes your stay more enjoyable even enjoyed a small walk along the canal. Definitely I would visit again.

Thank you fir grove

If you like 60's décor and paper thin walls then this is the hotel for you. The lobby is really nice and modern but when you walk through the doors to the halls it's like you've gone back in time. Room was very basic and really not clean & the loo roll holder was about to fall off the wall. Spent all night listening to the neighbouring room watching BBC news (I think we know after 3 hours we're getting a new PM...) so sleep was a struggle. Breakfast was average no better than a weatherspoons. Drinks were pricey, my wallet felt like it was in central London. All interactions with staff were great but I wouldn't return anytime soon. On check out nobody asked how our night was so we could express our concerns

Recently changed ownership and bedrooms are a bit tired and dated but clean and comfortable. Public areas are nice although limited menu in restaurant at present. Staff very friendly and helpful. Cooked breakfast was excellent and all hot and freshly cooked. Plenty of parking and rooms used for wedding were ideal for a party of 75. All buffet food good especially lemon chicken and steak. Cheesecake to die for. Room for disco and dance ideal and nicely decorated. Bar in the room also handy. Just needs new owner to invest in bedrooms and would get 5 stars.

This hotel went above and beyond for us during our stay. Due to booking.com overbooking the hotel, we were moved to a sister hotel about a half hours drive away- the hotel paid for taxis and didn’t charge us for this night. Due to the booking error, we were given a few free drinks and breakfast added onto our stay. The way staff dealt with the situation was swiftly handled and professional- we were taken care of in all aspects.
The room was lovely, and the breakfast was okay. More importantly, the staff were such genuine and friendly people who made our stay excellent. We can’t wait to stay again next year!

Booked at short notice so cost was over £100 for B/B even with loyalty card. Large car park- make sure you sign in and register your car at reception. Evening meal was good, but service slow in relation to number of guests eating at the time. Internet stopped working in the morning in the half hour before I left. Breakfast offer a good selection, except only one egg option offered. Hotel overall was quite hot, which is surprising with the higher energy costs.
