After a very stressful and emotional 11 months of selling my house and two buyers my experience with Lacey's was on the whole very good, especially the lovely Rebecca Youings who was very efficient, kind and compassionate throughout.

I had not moved for over 29 years and after the death of my husband and my mother it was a very moving time. I did have to constantly chase things in the beginning but was told that as there was a 'trust element' in the sale this is why it took so long in the beginning.

Due to the first sale falling through my fees were over double what they were originally quoted which came as a bit of a shock but at the end of the day you just want to get moved and out of the whole stressful situation and I felt I could not really query the added fees.

So just be aware that if your sale falls through you will be charged at least double fees even though the majority of the work was done on the first sale.

We selected Laceys after reaching out to a few firms via an email, when we accepted a offer on our flat late October. John Munro called us back almost immediately. We were very clear on what we needed in terms of timescales and service, especially as we were potentially looking for a fast turnaround, maybe just before Christmas as a exchange/completion date. He was very understanding and very quickly assured us he would be able to resource and meet our needs, not only himself but other colleagues if needed, and we would not get any excuses especially with Christmas looming in terms of availability. He was true to his word. We were in almost constant communication a few times a week, he always answered our calls, often working in the evenings to keep on track, having to deal with a number of third parties which was very challenging. On top of this the charge from Laceys was something that actually commanded a more significant amount, but again John stayed true to his word and invoiced the amount that was quoted from day one.
