My solicitor was Roger Waters. He handled my 4-year divorce case.

However, the complexity of the case incorporating, children, international finance and assets, income from two countries and a substantial inheritance, with data stretching back over 7-years, and a Respondent who changed her position constantly, made it a horrendous case.

To be clear, whilst on this case Roger managed 6 different Barristers, 2 sets of legal teams, court hearings and judges, Arbitration and Final Hearing seamlessly. He drifted across each topic and challenge, handling each in turn and giving everything 100% of his time. Not only that, but Roger also made himself available at times when more personal support or difficulties arose.

Knowledgeable on seemingly every topic, clever, hardworking and a natural at navigating complex issues and distilling information to be more usable by all, he is without doubt the only solicitor you will ever need. I came to rely on his abilities, and advice 100%. He never let me down once, nor did he make me feel I was nothing less than 100% of his focus 100% of the time. Astonishing.

I think it important to highlight the people that underpin any organisation. To that end, I want to say that Alison Diamond of HW, was so wonderful and kind, professional and meticulous in her approach to absolutely everything she did, over a 4-year period where I engaged the services of HW.

I was involved in a very difficult and complex case, yet Alison kept everyone aligned and with the correct information every time it was required. At times seeming to pre-empt information being required.

I would not recommend this firm as I find them extremely unprofessional. They closed my case on courtnav without providing me with information. When I contacted them about this they didn't know who took the case. After, they found the respected the person who said that they will call me within 10 mins.10 minutes has now turned to 4 weeks. Laurence had advised in the past, then Roger assisted with a delicate matter (family law) bringing it to a very positive conclusion. They were both always reassuring and answered promptly all my queries exhaustively and clearly.

This review related to a matter in which Mr Harris was acting for the respondent with regards to the dissolution of a marriage. Mr Harris deemed it necessary to use inflammatory language and accused the petitioner of “bully boy tactics” and tried to persuade the respondent to go to court, even though the respondent had indicated that she didn’t want to go down that path and preferred to resolve things amicably - especially since the settlement was fair and reasonable. Mr Harris insisted however to go to court, even though this would not have been in the best interest of his client.

Most solicitors, and especially those working in sensitive family law matters, would try to refrain from inflammatory language and rudeness, especially when there are children involved.

Years later, the ex husband, his partner and ex wife are on amicable terms but Mr Harris made matters a lot worse back in the day. Emotions were high and a solicitor would normally act in a professional manner. Very unfortunate and unnecessary. Wouldn’t recommend based on this experience.

As another reviewer has said, Harris Waters "Quality Solicitors" should win a prize for the best misnomer. The service we have received has been shocking, driving us to the point of a negligence claim.
In brief:
-Conveyancer handling our case left the firm - we got 1 days' notice.
-False assurances were given re. handling our case
-Whole chain almost fell through as a result
-We had to scramble last moment to expedite the move transaction in one month with another firm
-Our file was printed on the back of other people's case documents and personal details
-Harris Waters would not accept they were in the wrong
-For our complaint, the partner Roger investigated himself and found in his favour

I was not happy with, what was, in my opinion, erratic communication and so I had to move. The solicitor who was talking to me over email could not seem to organise a call with me in advance. I would recommend trying a call scheduling system (even a free version) and at least replying to all emails with 48hr (that’s the usual standard). This would come across more polite and professional. I wish them well.
