Advance went over and above to support when I had a problem with HMRC. Ross was really helpful, offerimg advice and steering towards a solution. I have been with Advance for over 5 years and would strongly recommend then, they are highly professional.

An continued awful experience trying to get some expenses paid. I have now filled in 5 forms for one weeks expenses. Sent 12 emails between Hays and Advance and 3 phone calls and they still don't see to be able pay expenses correctly
Anna Sills on the website claims a commitment to excellent customer service. I see no evidence of this behaviors I have phoned up several times and filled in every form I have been asked - duplicating and in some cases triplicating information in manual badly formatted word documents which need to be emailed and STILL they treat all expenses like income and tax them.

This has been my word customer experience in 20 years of contracting - it really doesn't need to be this difficult

This is the worst accounting firm I’ve ever experienced. Please stay away people. Where do I start. Well for the past 2 weeks I’ve been trying to get contact with Ross at Advance only to be told he’s not available. Since January Advance have done years 21-21, 22-23 & 23-24 tax returns for me. 2yrs were late submission due to my ill health with cancer. I haven’t been able to work since June last year due to this. Advance have had all 3yrs paid to them (which after speaking to the FSA this is not correct). In total they have received way over £6000 in my tax rebates & yet I have only received £3200 approx without adding it all together. They have also said I owe them £1800 as they advanced me the money on a rebate that had not been settled before payout from HMRC. What accounting Firm would pay out on a rebate before they even know what is being paid out That aside I they told me this was settled with the amount deducted from year 22-23 but this tax years rebate was supposed to around £2600 & yet all I’ve received is £390 of that & they said the rest was charges. Weeks prior to this I had it confirmed by 3 different members of Advance that this would all be my money minus the 20% fees. I’m now losing my family home tomorrow Monday 29th 2024 due to not being able to meet my mortgage requirements & after coming to an agreement with the lender that this years rebate will go to them to buy me more time to recover from surgery. So no my family including my 2 young daughters aged 9 & 13 will be homeless. Please see attached copies of emails sent this past week explaining all this with no reply or return calls I’ve been making daily for the past 2 weeks. Also i was told by Jack that the £1800 had been taken a 2nd time.

Hello, I have been using Advance as my umbrella for the last few months and have to say I am impressed with their professionalism, rates, responsiveness and understanding of customer service and customer requirements. All my payments have been prompt and on time. All this at a very reasonable cost per week, so keep it up Advance! Thanks Dave, Dan, Alwyn, Harriet and all others from Payroll team that I have dealt with.

We have been using Advance for the last few years to payroll many of our contractors. I have found them to be very professional and responsive and always eager to help with any issues. Dave Levenston in particular has been extremely helpful.

I've worked with Advance previously and when I decided to set up my own business it was a no brainer to discuss this with them. Martin was incredibly helpful in providing support and information crucial to the set up our business. From then on both himself and Sam have been very thorough and continue to provide an expert service that we depend on.

I don't think I need to say this but "I would have no issues in recommending Sam, Martin and all the team at Advance whether you are worker or recruitment business" - Keep up the good work everyone!

Ross has been first class, my tax return was speedily processed.It's like night and day compared to last year when i used a local company. I had to write off £741 that i was due and didn't receive.
