*Highly Recommend – Excellent Service from Shepshed Ford*

I had a very positive experience with Shepshed Ford from start to finish.

I initially visited to view a Seat Leon and was warmly welcomed by Simon, who immediately understood what I was looking for. He was helpful, patient, and informative, giving me the time and space to look around the car and take it for a test drive without any pressure. Everything was clearly explained—from the vehicle details to finance options and the MOT process before sale.

When I returned to collect the car, I was impressed to find it freshly cleaned, with a brand new MOT and no advisories. They had proactively replaced the front discs and pads prior to collection, and even provided a new set of mats at my request.

The entire experience exceeded my expectations. I was also offered a very competitive price for my part exchange, and the payment for my old car was in my bank account the very next morning.

Even the smallest follow-up issue was handled professionally—after noticing the locking nut caps were missing from the front wheels post-brake work, I contacted them and received genuine replacements in the post within a week.

Overall, I’m extremely pleased with the service I received. Simon, in particular, was fantastic—professional, straightforward, and genuinely helpful throughout the entire process.

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Shepshed Ford to anyone looking for a reliable and friendly dealership.

Purchased a Hyundai Kona from Shepshed Ford a few weeks ago and part exchange my Peugeot. I can confirm that the exchange and sorting of my HP finance was absolutely seamless.
Jim was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I was given time to look around the Kona and take it for a test drive. I didn't feel rushed or pushed into the purchase.
Jim was patient and knowledgeable, explaining everything to me that was needed and within 1 day I was picking up my new car and driving away happy.

Recently brought a car from Shepshed Ford, dealt with sales manager Jim. Spoke with him over the phone prior to going to see the car, he informed me that the car would not be prepared to their high standards in the time that i wanted to come up from South Wales to view the vehicle, but offered to deliver the car to me free of charge if i was to go ahead and purchase it. When we arrived the following day Jim had gone out of his way to have the car all prepared and ready for sale. Although he had done this not once did i feel pressured into buying it. He was very laid back and never once used the hard sale technique I've experienced previously. Due to Jim's calming personality i did buy the car and was able to trade my old car in there and then as he gave me an excellent px price. I wasn't expecting to be driving back home with my new car on the same day, but thanks to Jim i did, he is a real credit to the company, thank very much Jim.

Disappointed with My Visit to Shepshed Ford – Poor Experience with Used Car Viewing

I recently visited Shepshed Ford, a used car dealership in Leicestershire, after reserving a vehicle which was a 2021 VW Golf and making a two-hour journey based on a phone call where I was told there were no issues with the car. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing and did not meet the expectations I had for a professional dealership.

On arrival, I didn’t feel welcomed or engaged by the staff. The person I dealt with, Wayne, was dismissive throughout the visit. When I inspected the vehicle, I noticed what appeared to be previously unmentioned damage – a noticeable scuff from the rear passenger-side door to the wheel arch and what appeared to be slight panel misalignment. While I’m not a qualified bodywork expert, this gave the impression to me of prior repairs. This damage wasn’t visible in the photos online, which felt misleading as a customer.

During the test drive, I also heard unusual noises from the driver’s front wheel. When I pointed this out, I was told it was "a mechanical issue," but there was no offer to explain or investigate further. Several of the tyres also had visible chunks missing, which I personally found concerning from a safety and vehicle maintenance standpoint, especially as I'd gone out on a test drive in this vehicle.

When I tried to discuss this and explain I needed time to think things over, the conversation was abruptly ended. I left feeling undervalued as a customer and uncomfortable with the level of transparency.

Based on my personal experience:
Communication and transparency could be improved

Vehicle condition appeared inconsistent with the online listing

Customer service felt rushed and dismissive

Safety-related concerns were not addressed helpfully

While others may have had positive experiences here, I personally would not recommend Shepshed Ford based on my visit. I suggest anyone considering purchasing from this dealership inspect vehicles thoroughly and manage expectations around service quality.

After writing a review, I received a follow-up email from the business owner. Instead of addressing my concerns about customer service, the response focused on pricing and concluded with a threat of legal action, which I found surprising and disappointing.

Purchased a Ford Fiesta from Shepshed and the customer service was fantastic Simon got back to me straight away from my enquiry about the car and Wayne took me through the whole purchasing journey! I was never pushed into any addons and was left to look at the car at my own pace without any pressure. It was such a quick process and the car is in fantastic condition! I was advised about warranty that I could add on but at no stage was I made to feel like I had to add it on! But I did as it was a very good price! I would definitely come back here and recommend to friends and family!
