Superb huge showroom with a large selection of pre owned cars. We went there to view their new BYD hybrid and electric car range which were impressive and offered good value for money. Attentive sales personal. Jacob the sales manager was very accommodating. We ended up orders car. Transit van devotees would also be very impressed by there range of vans

They were very polite and very good to sell the car that l want it. it's a new car but in day 1 car had some issues with paint and manufacturing problem to arrange a repair under the warranty manager was reluctant to help or avaliable to answer my calls even they didn't offer courtesy car for during the repair however car company told them to provide the courtesy car so they did but this time they want it charge 25Ā£ insurance for that. what are theese people doing l have no idea, very bad customer service for the after sale care so l don't trust their work either l think Hartwell company should re train all these staff for better costumer services .

Leaving 1 star as cannot leave minus stars, they seemed great when purchasing the car as I guess they wanted my money however since purchasing the car they have been less than helpful. It is a fairly knew car so expected no issues however purchased the warranty just in case, it had broken down now 8 times ( battery keeps draining and the car needs jump starting) with the same problem when I call the garage they tell me they cannot assist as it is not a problem as it is working - they tell me they don’t have any availability to look at the car as they are fully booked so I book in a service which funnily enough they had space to look at as I was paying and would be able to look at the issue. Great, I get it there they tell me they do not have time to look at the problem and only do the service I said well can you look at the problem and not do the service nope no availability. I then have my service done and they say there is an issue with the updates not being done causing the battery to drain I get it booked in for weeks lates jump starting my car while we wait. Get to the garage at the agreed time as they said 5.30 I said I can’t make 5.30 but will be slightly after due to traffic and she said that’s not a problem someone will be there. I need my car as travel for work however when I arrive no one is there there is no one able to help me despite multiple people being in the building. Now I have the expense of getting taxi to work despite having a courtesy car book more cost for rubbish service and the lady couldn’t even be bothered to come over and talk to me and just sat in her office yelling across to me to say she couldn’t help and it wasn’t her problem…. So I pay for warranty which is a waste, now have to pay for work transport as the courtesy car I was promised is non existence and not a single apology just well we have lots of paying customers and can’t help everyone. Further to this I called at 4.45pm to confirm if my car was ready and they said they were unsure and would need to call me back they then called me after 5 to say the car needed to stay over night as needed to be tested when cold. They would have known this way before this and decided not to tell me to be difficult. I also missed a call from them at 12pm when I returned the call I was told I don't need to chase and I need to be patient. I advised I was returning a call and she said well there is no record!! disgraceful service especially for the amount of money being charged. They have called and emailed me multiple times to leave a review on the "excellent service provided"

Extremely Unprofessional and Disrespectful Experience – Avoid Hartwell Dunstable

On April 26, we decided to purchase a Hyundai Tucson (number plate ending in 73) with only 2,100 miles on the clock. During the test drive, we noticed that the car’s audio system was not functioning. However, considering this a minor issue and reassured by the sales agent Stefan that the car would be serviced and in perfect condition at delivery, we proceeded to place a deposit.

The car was meant to be ready for collection on Monday, April 28. Around noon, we received a message confirming pickup for 5:30 PM, with assurance that all issues would be resolved. Shockingly, at 4:00 PM—just 90 minutes before the scheduled handover—Stefan called to inform us that the audio system could not be repaired. We were presented with two unacceptable options: either take the car as-is and deal with Hyundai ourselves (despite the car still being under warranty), or let them send it in for repair with no clear timeline.

When asked if we would receive any compensation for the inconvenience, the answer was a flat ā€œno.ā€ I asked Stefan to confirm how long the repair would take. On April 29, no one contacted me. I had to call myself, only to learn that Hyundai couldn’t schedule the car until after May 20. When I asked why no one had provided this update earlier, he had no answer.

At that point, I told them to cancel the deal and requested a full refund. Stefan said he’d get back to me with the refund details—but after that phone call, he vanished. No more replies, no returned calls, no accountability.

I contacted Hartwell directly. They promised a manager would call me the next day. That never happened either. On May 1, I followed up again and was connected to a manager, Matthew, who finally asked for proof of the payment so they could ā€œofficially processā€ the refund. That alone is shocking—until that point, no one had even started the refund process.

Today is May 8, and I still have no refund and no update.

Hartwell Dunstable has shown zero respect for customers. Their interest ends the moment a commission is lost. They listed a car that was not fit for sale, took a deposit on it, and then tried to shift the burden of repair onto us. When the sale fell through, they completely dropped communication.

This dealership is not focused on customer service, only on profit. Their behavior is careless, dishonest, and frankly unacceptable. I hope that both Ford and BID take notice of the kind of people representing their brand.

Avoid Hartwell Dunstable at all costs. They do not deserve your time, your trust, or your money.

Not overly impressed. Had an appointment to test drive a car but on arrival was told someone else had taken it at the time I'd booked for. The person greeting palmed me off to another guy who had just started so didn't have the information I needed, which isn't his fault. I was in the market to buy a car the same day but left as I wasn't shown any care. In comparison to the Tesla garage I'd visited the day before, these guys have a lot to learn.

Amazing customer service from the service department at Hartwell Ford Dunstable! I brought my vehicle in for its 2nd year service, the drop off was very smooth, I was in a rush to get to work and they had check in systems for customers to use instead of waiting for a service advisor to become available. After dropping off my vehicle, I got a phone call a few hours later explaining my free visual health check and that my vehicle was due some work. The service advisors were extremely helpful in explaining the work that needed doing as I don’t really understand vehicles all too much and my confidence in them was secured with the communication I received. When collecting my vehicle I found it had been valeted free of charge! It was an experience in servicing that I will never forget, everyone was so helpful and it was continuously smooth and the communication was amazing. I would definitely recommend using Hartwell Ford Dunstable for your servicing needs!

Avoid This Place – Poor Customer Service and No Aftercare

Had a pretty disappointing experience at this garage. The first sales assistant was more interested in pushing finance than actually selling me the car. When I asked about the vehicle itself, it felt like an afterthought. The second assistant wasn’t much better—didn’t even bother showing me around the car, just took it for a test drive and then went straight to the paperwork. No effort was made on the price of the car or my part exchange, which made it clear they weren’t interested in giving a fair deal.

Fast forward five months, and I’ve now discovered that one of the keys doesn’t have a key blade. Because the spare key was in a cover, this wasn’t obvious until I had to change the battery. When I raised this with the manager, I was basically told it’s my problem now, as he has no way of knowing whether I lost it. To make matters worse, he even admitted that if they had known the key blade was missing at the time of purchase, they still wouldn’t have done anything about it!

Wouldn’t recommend this place at all—once they have your money, they’re not interested. Definitely look elsewhere if you want decent service and aftercare.

Regarding yesterday visit, I regret to inform you that my experience was exceptionally very poor, and I will not be returning to this branch in the future. Upon collecting my vehicle yesterday afternoon, I discovered it had been left unlocked. Furthermore, your colleague, Ella, refused to release the car to me when I arrived at 5:35 PM, despite her presence at the branch until 6:00 PM. Her conduct was argumentative, unhelpful, and unprofessional. I am also still awaiting the invoice for the work completed and paid for yesterday.

Due to the unprofessional service and overall experience, I intend to file a formal complaint with the Ombudsman Service.
