Having never dealt with a house sale before Ocean solicitors staff were very helpful with providing answers to all questions that I had especially Stephanie Borthwick . The house belonged to my late parents so the sale was a difficult thing to do. Plus had abit of a challenging situation come the time of exchanging/completing but Stephanie was reassuring and supportive and helped me through it. Her professionalism and kind words went along way .

Stephanie, Olivia and the team at Ocean Property Lawyers know their stuff and got the job done.
They always responded to emails promptly, kept us well informed and managed the process professionally.
As sellers, we are based in Australia, but were selling a house in Bristol. This added an extra layer of complexity which they took in their stride.
My only gripe is not with Ocean Lawyers, but with the UK real estate system which I feel moves at an unnecessarily slow pace. In Australia the whole process normally takes 30 days from acceptance of offer to completion. I think this is also the case in many other countries? This compares with around 90 days in the UK. I wonder if the appropriate industry bodies could lobby the government for reform on this front?
That aside, I can highly recommend the team at Ocean to manage the sale of your property.

Even with a change in solicitor on the vendor side, Ocean's team have completed on a leasehold flat in plenty of time for exchange of contracts on our next purchase of a freehold house - impressive. It was a pleasure to work with Olivia and she was invaluable in ensuring we made the right decisions on the problem aspects of the sale.

Ponderously inefficient. They are representing the person buying my property, we confirmed the sale at the end of October and were able to provide searches and survey immediately as these were already prepared for a previous sale that fell through, and 7 weeks later Ocean are still yet to raise any enquiries and our sale has not progressed in any way. This has included them contacting my solicitor on three separate occasions to request he send them the same form which he had already provided prior to them asking the first time. They have turned what had the potential to be an incredibly straight forward 'oven ready' sale into weeks and weeks of ongoing delay with no explanation, justification or apology provided.

On the whole we had a positive experience with Ocean property lawyers. Ella, our solicitor, was excellent and her service was certainly 5 star. There was a point in time when the sale looked like falling through, and Ella went above and beyond to ensure that we completed, and was hugely supportive during this stressful period in the purchase.
However, there were a couple of points early on when it felt like things were not progressing as quickly as we would have liked, and at times we felt like we had to chase the wider Ocean team to get regular updates on how our sale was progressing.
Overall, we would strongly recommend Ella and are delighted that our purchase got over the line!

Dreadful. Encountered these people when they acted as solicitors for our buyers during a property purchase. Incredibly slow and delayed a straightforward transaction by being completely unresponsive. I believe they have a reputation for this within the local property industry.
