Can't comment on their actual service as did not get the opportunity. Looking for conveyancing for house sale in Watford so emailed for quote as per their website. Did not get response so phoned them to be told they do not monitor their email address ? Was asked to email a specific individual, did so, then got a response that they can't help with no explanation as to why ie too busy, don't do conveyancing any more etc? Waste of my effort and they could certainly do with some customer service training and updating their website. A follow up email from me and response indicated they don't have capacity (not sure the housing market is booming at the moment) so who knows!

Reception was professional and prompt. Straight forward service, certifying documents. I phoned agreed price and got appointment the same day. The lady was prompt, polite and efficient. She listened to my concerns re photocopying through feeder as one had previously been damaged. Fast, polite efficient.

House sale - in my experience I can only describe them as slow and useless - appeared to not know how to do some basic elements of conveyancing. They represented the buyer of my house and together with the buyer dragged out a very simple sale that had no chain at either end for 7 months (should have taken 3). Only looked at the file once a week and then spent another week to respond - so answers to simple queries could each take 2 weeks - no wonder it took 7 months. Their actions caused significant and unnecessary stress on my marriage and my family - this was a horrible period of my life - when it should have been so simple. Finally, lets just say I am aware of at least one very respectable estate agent who won't go near them!

I just stumbled upon these reviews and thought it was only fair to add my experience of these guys. It is the same as everyone on here. Come on Collins, instead of jumping to the defence for every review why not fix your business. I had exactly the same experience 6 months ago. People always "Away from their desk". Very rude receptionist. Always put through to voicemails with no call backs every. Excuses all the time about delays. My buyers solicitors always having to chase. There is NO cover when people are away, you are told there is someone but then that person always says you will have to wait until the return. Look at all the customers with the same experience and instead of fixing you just come on and say sorry we do not know who you are. Do you think this many people would leave reviews if it was not a problem. These guys held up my house sale by at least 7 weeks. Also the comments about " We are business and we need to make money" I get that. Yes you are a business and you are paid over £1000 to do the job and then you charge for every email and letter and phone call. Most of which is me having to chase you for not doing the job you were initially paid to do. Get your act together. Stop taking on more jobs than you can handle and then do a good job at the ones you do take on! Its not a joke you are messing with people lifes. Look how rude you were to one of your reviewers. The poor customer was merely saying you are the worst solicitor he has dealt with. He did not mention the others being bad, only yours. Sort it out for your poor customers sake.

Do not use this place for any house sales, Paul spends more time out of the office than in it. If you want your house sale slowed to a halt then they are ok. They charge for everything. The receptionist is horrible. She just said Paul is not at his desk and you get his voicemail. Absolute joke. The solicitor from my buyer has asked Paul for information for 4 weeks and through his multiple holidays and days out of the office its not been happening. Shame on this company. Shame on them. This is the worst solicitor I have ever dealt with. Stay well away.

Didn't hire them directly but the person we purchased our new house off used them and our solicitors always had problems contacting them. They seem to like to be in all day meetings when they knew we were due to exchange and complete. I would avoid them and anyone who choses to hire them.

We have found Collins Solicitors to be an exceptionally helpful and able team who have genuinely gone above and beyond what we would have expected from a legal firm. Straight talking and fast communication, but most importantly, results! It's clear some of the other reviews here are not authentic, so from a group of people who you will know are actual clients of yours, thank you! Highly recommended.

I have now used Paul Taylor to buy my first flat five years ago, and my house last week, which we had many problems with down the chain with, if it wasn’t for Paul’s help and constant reliabiltly and easy approachability to deal with any quries or problems we had, we would have never been able to complete the purchase of the house! I would highly recommend using his services!
