We used Bates Wells and Braithwaite for conveyancing on our house sale and purchase. Initially, the process was fairly smooth; however, since the sale completed we have found there was negligence from Tom by withholding important information regarding the house we were purchasing, which has led us into significant financial problems both now and potentially in the future. Had we been properly informed about these issues, we would not have proceeded on the purchase until the seller had rectified them. We have now made a formal complaint to BWB but have yet to receive any kind of acknowledgement or response, despite this complaint being made more than three weeks ago (according to BWB website, formal complaints are acknowledged in three business days). We are now taking our negligence complaint to the Legal Ombudsman, since BWB do not wish to rectify their mistakes.

Just to be clear - we would definitely not recommend using BWB.
