Don’t make the same mistake I did by ignoring reviews. This has been the worst experience I’ve ever had with a professional services firm. If you’re looking for a firm that is helpful, mindful of timelines, and responsive, then RG Law is not for you.

As a first-time buyer, I never want to go through this process again after dealing with them. The entire ordeal took over six months, with long periods—sometimes a month or two—where I received no communication at all. They consistently ignored my calls and emails, and multiple complaints were met with nothing but a half-hearted apology from Akshaye, followed by another two weeks of silence. By early July, we should have been close to completion, but they started asking for information that should have been handled months earlier—if they had been organised and attentive. Their negligence also damaged my relationship with the landlord I was buying from.

What started as a £2,000 quote ended up costing me nearly £6,000 for the worst service I’ve ever experienced—not to mention the additional rent I had to pay due to their delays.

In short, avoid this firm. Save yourself the time, stress, and financial burden. Don’t expect any clear communication or insights from them either, as they seem unaware of the process themselves. The only reason I was able to complete the transaction in the end was by personally liaising with my landlord and chasing my mortgage lender—services for which I was still charged.

RG Law was recommended to me by Johnson IPA Estate agents, and I'm so glad I followed their advice. I hadn't moved in over 20 years, so the entire process was completely new to me. Megan took the time to explain everything thoroughly, which put my mind completely at ease. The only downside was that the Portal, which I was initially excited about for tracking progress, wasn't updated regularly.

What a catastrophe. 10 months of hell / stress as a cash buyer for a simple purchase 'not' to complete. Please, please check out other conveyancing review of this company and stay clear.
I never complain but I still have no idea why RG Law could not act in my interests and want others to learn from my experience. When dealing with RG Law it was necessary to complain two times during the 10 months. The final response was outstandingly poor with mistakes and many 'I believe' and 'I am sorry' - but no justifications for their failure as a conveyancing solicitor. It didn't excuse the laziness or inability to act effectively on behalf of myself as a paying client. Please note - nothing was acted on - no actions were taken to expedite the sale. Having requested a SAR following this [which included other clients documentation] it transpires that the York team had no clue what they were doing or how to go about doing their job. RG Law should not have the right to undertake conveyancing. This is in the hands to the Legal Ombudsman to sort. Please be warned and any companies understand that your data will not be treated with due diligence. To RG Law please learn from this experience and I do not want any response. It is not worth your time.

If there were awards for incompetence in Conveyancing then I’m sure they would win hands down. They should also get one for lying. Delayed a sale by a week with a tale of “just waiting for a directors sign off” before exchange of contracts could take place - a half truth. What they didn’t state was that said director was on holiday. Seller, purchaser and estate agent at the end of their tether, sellers solicitor has been ready for three weeks. Exchange and completion dates agreed weeks ago. Also constant requests by them from sellers solicitor for irrelevant information, delaying things further. There’s more, but would be here all day. Look elsewhere and save yourselves grief. Oh and one star is too many.

I did not have the best experience with RG Law. My estate agent recommended them to me for the buying of my first property. During the initial onboarding stage they were very helpful and responsive – I was very impressed by the snazzy app set up to track my purchase. Trying to get hold of my case handler or her assistant on the phone was near enough impossible (I actually never had one call with my case handler the entire time). Any time I requested for an update, via voicemail or email a response would come atfer 5pm (so basically lost another day each time). Attention to detail was not the best either, on three separate occasions I received documents that had errors i.e. my name and address of property included in this. They couldn’t even get their own invoice correct at the end of the transaction. Therefore would not recommend.

Rheanne handled my remortgage matter which was extremely time sensitive. Not only did she go above and beyond to complete my matter within a very tight time frame, she was extremely professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Anytime I had a question she made herself available to promptly answer it and did so in a way I could understand. The fact that she was able to complete my remortgage on time was nothing but miraculous and I can’t say enough good words about her!
