A great place for lunch, with views across the estuary. Great walks along the coast and plenty of benches to sit and watch the boats go by. There is also a passenger ferry to Felixstowe and Harwich. Unfortunately you now have to pay for parking, though it is free for 3 hours if you buy something in the pub (and register your car).

Lovely place for a drink , well placed by the river at Shotley, looking over to Harwich and Felixstowe. You can spend ages just looking at the view.
We went on the Harwich to Shotley foot ferry and had a nice walk and then a drink in the Shipwreck.
Lots of space for outdoor dining and loads of room inside. We didn't eat, but there is lots of choice.Great car parking .

Great service, price point to be expected for location, just a pity that the thin brown bread served with the meal was likely Asda own brand brown bread instead of something from a local bakery or a nice thicker cut. Hot chocolate was watery to the taste and not pleasant.

Pleasant place to eat with interesting views of the shipping and local marina.

We had a really good fish and chips, we were seating outside. We ordered a good and tasty craft beer on the tap and a ginger beer. Our friends had two sandwiches (Brown bread and White bread) and it was good as well.
Cider, beer, Juice, Coffee, tea,...
We had a lunch there but also make breakfast.
Such a nice view on the river and on the boat, sailers and the big containers ship.

Very impressed with this pub for an impromptu lunch ! Big portions, tasty too 😋 sandwiches and hot food for lunch - also coffees etc. Staff very friendly and sat outside with plenty of seating overlooking the harbour - great to watch the world go by and good dog walking. Free parking right outside.

Well worth a visit when in Shotley Gate watching the cargo ships load up in Felixstowe or when waiting for the ferry boat to Harwich. Friendly bar staff and well priced no nonsense food. They also do accommodation but have not tried that yet.

Not sure if this has changed hands or what but last year we came quite a few times and the fish and chips was good. Popped in for a light lunch with the motorbike group but the most underwhelming sandwich ever. Dry cheap bread and the thinnest slice of cheese imaginable. For £7 for a bit of bread and a tiny bit of cheese. A Tesco meal deal would have been far far better. You really need to try harder. We won't be back sadly as the food is very sub par. Staff were good and bubbly as ever but that sandwich was embarrassing two vending machine drinks and two woeful sandwichs for £23 is not on. We regularly go to the blue egg in GT bardfield and for very little cost more it's a world away and que out the door.
Seeing as the place denies my review is from them and can't even be honest I will upload a copy of the debit taken from my bank. Why it's called shotley marina I don't know? Maybe something else afoot. I can assure you can see the tables under the plates are the same tables in other photos of the same place these are the tables right outside the door. You don't sell sliced cheese? What is those two thin bits of white substance on the bread attempt then? It was purchased as brie so if it is not then that's another lie too.
