Thank you 🙏 We lost power to our downstairs sockets. Checked the consumer board, all switches fine but funny smell and the box was hot. Immediately isolated the supply and phoned the company. We were unsure if they would be able to help at such short notice. Martin answered and was extremely helpful. We sent some photos of the unit via WhatsApp and he then sent an electrician to check it out. Jonny was excellent, after opening the unit it was clear that a major disaster had been averted, burnt wires and a couple of switches ruined (see pic). He then set about repairing the damage. We now have power and feel safe in the knowledge that a professional and quality repair has been undertaken. We have not received an invoice yet, but note from the previous review that they find the hourly rate excessive. We are not too concerned about this, what I am happy with is that a potentially major incident in our home has been averted and rectified in a professional and timely manner.

I made the mistake of not asking the hourly rate. I was shocked when the invoice arrived promptly for £114 for no more than one hour's work. The job was fault finding and to provide a quote; with a minor light switch repair. No parts were required.
I've no issue with the standard of work. The electrician arrived promptly and was efficient in testing and diagnosing the faults; but £95 an hour plus VAT is a lot. If costs such as travelling time are going to be factored into the invoice, as seems to be the case here(having spoken to the owner of the business)then I think this should be made clear to customers beforehand.

First time I've used this company and i couldn't have ask for a better service from this excellent local electrical contractor !
