A lovely sunny day in Salcombe means it is undoubtedly going to be busy on the water. However, this needs to be managed carefully by the harbour master. Today, we experienced a young blonde harbour master girl (around 11:15am on 4/8/21) dropping someone off as we were manoeuvring within 15ft and she caused us to reverse abruptly. She should be looking at other maritime users, not just herself. Just because you are the harbour master does not mean you have right of way over larger boats in the harbour. Hopefully this employee can be more aware of her mistake in the future and better represent the body of harbour masters in Salcombe.

Last Thursday I wound a rope round my propshaft just south of the bag. Salcombe Harbour were calm, helpful, and one of their friendly blokes pushed my boat safely home. Thank you very much!

Have sailed the Scillies, helford, Carrick roads and salcombe this week. Best experience was in salcombe. From talking to us on the radio to collecting the money (£18 with showers) to having a bit of banter with us, the harbour master on Tuesday 17th in the afternoon was a lovely bloke. Didn't get his name, but good on you 👍👍

Very pretty scenery. The town is lovely to walk through for the sites or for a spot of shopping. There are some car parks nearby but they have a 1 hour max stay. As an alternative there are a few parkings in the road with 2 hour limits.
