My ex was the one who started this process. I felt scared and anxious because he was always better educated than me and made me believe that the system wasn't designed for people like me. When I received my first email from Rosie, I was cautious and defensive. I didn't know much about mediation, and with my dyslexia, the emails seemed overwhelming. Rosie's sweet and calm demeanor helped reduce my anxiety. Meeting with the mediator, Andrew, was the next challenge. I expected him to be harsh and cutthroat, but he was unbiased and non-judgmental, which was a pleasant surprise. Andrew took the time to explain his role and what to expect, easing my anxiety. Dealing with a sneaky ex who could attack at any moment kept me on edge. The first mediation meeting with the mediator and my ex was an experience worth a whole new chapter. Andrew's professionalism and intelligence shone through as he caught the contradictions in my ex's claims. This organisation truly helped me understand the situation and their vigilance made it difficult for anyone to manipulate them.

My MIAMI certificate ran out, but my solicitor said that they usually reissue it. Instead, they want to make me go through it again so they can get the money out of me. They know perfectly well that she won't engage. It is just delaying the whole process for no reason.

I wouldn’t recommend Disputes Mediation for Family Mediation unless the parents involved come already in agreement on the points they want formally discussed and you simply require an hour to get the MIIAM report. The sessions were careless, letting the other party ramble on and verbally attack me without having a word in edgewise, allowing me to be further emotionally abused within the sessions. Matters we needed to resolve were checklists that were tried to rush through within the scheduled session. Requests were made to have more time and care, an agenda and multiple sessions to resolve the issues and we were told to ask the mediator in the session- very poor structure and planning. Happy to send you invoices though.
