I used McGlinchey & Co to do the conveyancing on a bungalow I bought in Wales in January 2024. Everything was done timely and efficiently and there was no issue with the property being in Wales. Simran, the Paralegal, was an experienced conveyancer and did most of the work on the purchase. She was supervised and papers and searches etc reviewed by the partner Richard Harbord. Simran was easy to contact by email or phone and any questions were answered quickly, unlike the experience I have had with some cheap online conveyancers who take ages to come back to you or not at all. I was very happy with the service and would use McGlinchey & Co again.

A Frustrating Encounter with Broken Promises and Policies

Disregard the old positive reviews; my recent encounter with McGlinchey & Co has left me thoroughly dissatisfied. The unprofessionalism displayed during the purchase of our first home has been disheartening.

Repeated mistakes during the house-buying process led to seven instances of raising concerns, with McGlinchey & Co promising callbacks that never materialized. Adding to the frustration, we had to point out blatant errors in our contract and deed to McGlinchey & Co. Instead of receiving proper advice, we found ourselves guiding them, revealing their shocking lack of attention to detail and professionalism.

Post-purchase, we diligently followed McGlinchey & Co's official complaint process, only to endure a prolonged 12-week period of silence and unfulfilled promises.

The most disappointing aspect is that McGlinchey & Co, a company with its own complaints policy, failed to adhere to the very rules they have set. This raises a critical question: what is the purpose of having a complaints policy if the company does not uphold its own guidelines?

We are now forced to escalate this matter further. My advice to potential clients is to avoid McGlinchey & Co at all costs. The lack of responsiveness and the failure to adhere to their own policies have cast a shadow on our experience with the company. Avoid being ignored, especially when dealing with a company that falls short of its own standards, and find an alternative.

On a fairly simply conveyancing requirement experienced poor communications. Seller was slow initially, but then the delays were on the McGlinchey side for months. Richard seemed away or on holiday more than he was available and promised updates, call backs etc rarely happening - after 6 months still experiencing issues completing.

Elizabeth and Richard at McGlinchey & Co were wonderful at guiding us through the process of selling my bungalow and buying my sheltered accommodation flat. McGlinchey's charges were moderate and proved to be the same as in their original quotation and all the costs along the way were carefully explained. Because I am house bound Richard and Natasha kindly visited me for the original meeting and signing of papers they were very good at dealing with both myself and my daughter keeping us both in the loop. McGlinchey deal with things very speedily but when there were hold ups proved very patient and great at communicating legal jargon in plain English. Couldn't be better.
