What a terrible company!! We had the displeasure of dealing with this company when buying a new build. The house fell through due to factors on the builders side and the costs were fully reimbursed except for the outstanding legal bill which the builder (St. Modwen) said they would speak to Davies & partners and have the invoice sent to them instead of us.
We had emails from both parties confirming this and no more was said. Cue 6 months later we start getting emails from Anthony Bridges @ Davies & partners chasing us for outstanding legal fees, I emailed back stating that this is covered by St. Modwens and this was again confirmed by Carol Reading @ Davies & p in the same email trail.
I thought that this was the end of the matter but then again few months later another email from Anthony Bridges chasing outstanding legal fees. Again I had it confirmed that this was a mistake and moved on and didn't hear anything for another 6 months. This time however we received a CCJ through the post (entered in our wrong address so we had no way to stop it before it happened). Obviously we very angry and being around the Christmas period there was no one we get hold off and we had the fear of bailiffs turning up to take our possessions on a false CCj.
Eventually we got hold of Carol Reading and she instructed the collections company to stop as they realised it was in error and then the complaint was handed to Simon Hart @Davies & partners.
This then proceeded to be the most frustrating and physically draining year of our lives trying to get this removed with no way of an apology and lot of shoulder struggling while our financial lives were destroyed for a year and 3 months getting it removed. No one seemed interested and the responses we received from Simon were borderline sarcastic. At one point during a face to face meeting I asked why more isn't being done to sort this and why the court isn't being chased everyday to push this through and the response I received from Simon was 'you could always call the court yourself'. As you can imagine I was apoplectic with anger and the cheek of telling me do the work myself to fix their mistake just showed how little they cared.
I had to ask 3 times in a row how and who to make a complaint to before I go an answer.

If I could give 0 stars I would they made our lives hell for over a year and stopped us changing our car (which we needed to do because of a baby being due), renewing our mortgage and completing essential work to our house and for all this aggro and stress we had a £150 sorry about that compensation payment.

Dreadful experience! My father dying was difficult enough but trying to get his will from this company made things even harder! Broken promises to ring me back , passed from pillar to post with poor information provided. What a shambles
