So glad I decided to take my mum here for lunch. After our amazing steak and chips at their country night, I knew I wanted to go back! Today was no different! Food was outstanding, service was amazing (waitress was very friendly and chatty), pub was clean and well presentable. Honestly can not thank you all enough. Thank you for a fantastic meal ? We will be back!

My friend and I have lunched at the Red Lion quiet a few times , yesterday was such a let down , ordered a latte I'm sure it was just coffee granules and not hot. Lunch was gammon chips eggs and peas.the only things that were nice were the eggs. The gammon was thick and tough , all in all very dissatisfied. Had to keep jacket on as it was cold others kept there coats on too. No heating on ,wont be going back any time soon.

Came here for a Mother’s Day meal as a party of seven.
We had a table booked for 12:30 and was shown in straight away which was great.
The waitress explained that if we wanted to pay separately we would need to order our drinks at the bar because they didn’t want to have to split the cheques, and baring in mind there’s seven of us, this wouldn’t be very convenient.
After we’d finished our starters, the same waitress then came and told us “Just to let you know you’ve got about 45 mins left on your table before another party comes in.” As you can imagine, considering we hadn’t even had our mains yet and potentially then wanted desserts, we found this quite rude and unprofessional. If there’d been a time limit on the table we should have been told this on arrival, not when there’s less than an hour to go and we haven’t even eaten mains yet.
After eating mains and desserts, another waitress came over and said “Yeah when you’re ready we need the table now.” We didn’t even have the bill, and we were well aware that there was someone else waiting, but frankly it wasn’t really our fault, and we couldn’t control the speed of the service.
We sat waiting for the bill for ten minutes, before she came over AGAIN and asked how long we’d be! It was at this point that I said “Well if you wanna bring the bill over we might be a bit quicker..?”. She then decided to tell us we had to pay at the bar here, which would have been helpful to know prior to ordering so we could’ve just got up when we were done.

An additional point to add is there are NO prices listed anywhere for drinks nor carvery or any of the specials, so it’s a bit of a guessing game as to what you’re going to end up paying.

Overall, the food was really lovely, and the pub itself was in a gorgeous quiet village which was a nice change to our busy hometown, however the service lacked professionalism and had we been made aware of the clearly overbooked afternoon service that was running, we’d have made sure we did all we could to ensure we didn’t overrun. Would return, but NOT on a weekend where I’m sure we’d be rushed along again.

2 gammon egg and chips, one burger, one caramelised pork chop and one honey mustard chicken stack and 5 very happy customers. All the food was cooked fresh, tasted delicious and left all of us too full to ask about deserts. Great value for money, lovely pub, great staff... We'll definitely be back soon!

Just home after a lovely meal. Liver & bacon was delicious. The sweets were lovely too. Our waitress was great.
Jake the landlord took time to chat to us. We’ll definitely be back.

Went here for an evening meal here for my birthday had a burger and a pint, burger was really nice flame grill flavour and skin on fries, just the job and a pint of cider. Staff were pleasant and helpful, would definitely visit again

Had the Sunday carvery, was absolutely lovely!
Staff were all very professional and friendly. Highly recommend this place but you have too book quick! They are always full!
