Appalling Service. I'd like to go into detail, but as its a review I will keep this brief! - Initial discussions with Susan Thompson seemed good, however it was soon passed to another (non-partner) Andrew Lloyd (I felt it was deemed not important enough for her to handle). Everyone seemed to be working from home. I sent through considerably information following the initial discussions to try and keep costs down, and we agreed to limit work to the funds from the other party + a small extra amount. Following several discussions it was clear they had not read the information. I found myself having to refer them to the files and having to explain things I had already provided. After some time.. and chasing multiple times to see what the costs were, I was finally given a statement (without breakdown) which showed the cost hugely exceeding what was originally agreed and much of it for discussions (i.e. me re-telling what I had already provided). There is much more to this story, but I have used multiple solicitors before and never had such poor communication on costs, lack of preparation and bad advice. I disputed the costs and they effectively ignored my concerns and are now sending aggressive requests for payment. Avoid!!!! their team are clearly on targets for earning or incentivised on what they can "bill". Use a local solicitor or someone recommended, Simkins are clearly after your money! I will update as things progress, but avoid!!!
