The Ayurvedic course at the institute is both highly knowledgeable and incredibly engaging. Dr. Deepika has expertly fine-tuned the curriculum, ensuring that if you trust the process, you’ll not only absorb the knowledge but also gain confidence in applying it. Her teaching style is remarkable—she puts her heart into every class, making the learning experience truly enriching. I’m extremely pleased to have joined and feel genuinely excited for each session. Highly recommended for anyone passionate about Ayurveda!

I and my friend recently had a great experience taking a diploma course in Ayurvedic Massage therapy
I and my friend recently had a great experience taking a diploma course in Ayurvedic Massage therapy at Ayurveda Institute UK. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our course. I particularly can't forget to cheer up Dr. Sumudu, who took us through whole of practical sessions making sure that we well understood the concepts. and gratitude to the principal, Dr Deepika who are great assets the Institute has.
The school environment and atmosphere are so charming. Overall, I highly recommend and look forward to visiting again for more advanced courses, and I can't hesitate to recommend my colleagues.

Best regards,
Lilian

I wrote a review previously but wanted to update so that you can see the results of this exceptional teaching which comes from the heart.
I have studied with Dr Deepika and the team at AIUK now since September 2020 which included the Lifestyle and Nutrition Diploma, the Ayurvedic Practitioner Course and the Ayurvedic Massage and Marma Therapy course. I graduated this summer after my final submission and case studies. It has been the most immense learning experience I have ever had. Dr D and Dr W and all the team teach, as Ayurveda should be, from the heart. This is beyond what you can learn in books and it is through their immense practical experience as Ayurvedic Dr's both in Sri Lanka and UK over 30yrs that they can teach so well. My practice has been thriving and it has developed during the course, with the 2nd year very much like an internship, supported with real life observational and practical, supervised case studies as well as your own practice. I have had over 300 patients now at my practice, Highland Ayurveda, without any advertising, all based on referrals quite simply because the teaching I have been given works, and the success rate is excellent. I have completely given up my other career and my Ayurvedic practice is able to support me financially as well as emotionally and spiritually. Making the decision to sign up to this in 2020 was the best decision I ever made. Thanks to all the team, with love and gratitude.

The Diploma in Ayurvedic lifestyle and nutrition course 2023-4

1. The course is excellently composed. One learns visually from the written materials, auditorily from the e-learning videos + Q&A, kinaesthetically from the medicine class [where students try samples], training clinics, case studies.
2. The Sanskrit videos + written materials are brilliant. The teacher teaches creatively, clearly, with a system, humour, and through song to easily remember slokaha.
3. The principal lecturer Dr. Deepika's moments of brilliance are concepts through metaphors that one remembers forever. And she makes people laugh!
4. The videos that show how to make remedies are clear + easy to follow.
5. The secondary lecturer Dr. Wathsala leads the medicine classes systematically + explains clearly.
6. The Q&A are a great source of learning.
7. The OSP & recipes are the most valuable documents of the written materials.
8. The directive reading is highly valuable.
9. They clearly explain everything about the exam.
10. The exam is well composed. Its format gives everyone a fair chance.
11. that about allopathic medicine + pharma companies which one reviewer who gave 1 * on Google named a rant is accurate reality. It may offend some people. But the reality remains so.

1. The course was poor value for money. Several parts of the modules repeated material from the beginning. Teaching new knowledge would constitute good value for the £4,800 / 4,300 with a discount. They repeat to reinforce learning. The tail side of the coin is little value.
2. They started 10 minutes late as standard, 15’ late several times. They explain it as giving students a chance to join + resolving tech issues. They should teach + model excellent timekeeping. if 6 immersions of 2 days per immersion start 10 minutes late for each day of each immersion on average, that detracts 2 hours which should be filled with learning. Losing 2 hours due to lateness = even worse value.
3. The course materials contain a disclaimer against stereotyping doshas, yet they stereotype doshas a lot with remarks such as “we are all vata and kapha at the clinic and get on excellently. We hope that a pitta person doesn’t join us.” This edition was heavily biased pro vata and against pitta. I don’t count examples of the good and bad points of each dosha. They demonstrate what the doshas are like and how they behave and interact. They’re fine.
4. Teaching the course in a foreign language is admirable. Dr. Deepika does what she can, but at times didn’t express herself accurately and that caused inaccuracies and confusion of students. Answering questions that arose from confusion took time which could be filled with new learning and detracted from the value.
5. This edition contained too much handholding and pep talk about the exam. That detracted from the value. Support is good, but too much support takes time. Students should be led to study on their initiative so that they become excellent professionals! The reality of their Ayurvedic practice will throw them into the deep end of solving situations on own initiative.
6. Dr. Deepika often answered different questions from the asked questions.
7. When Dr. Deepika didn’t know or want to give too much away, she didn’t answer questions to the point.
8. They teach that students must tell patients exactly how to make + take remedies from what ingredients in what quantities when for how long, but they do not practise what they teach. Explanations of recipes didn’t always have a chronology according to which listeners could visualise the process, & students had to ask what quantities to take when for how long.
9. They ask for ONLY GOOD reviews. The decision to leave a review, and especially whether it should be good or bad should always be the customer’s. I reviewed the bad points from a different account as Google allows 1 review per business. After a 2-hour talk with Dr. Deepika I modified this review, so her response to only good points is from the old time. She responded to all bad points too.

I have recently completed all available courses at AIUK (Level 1 2021-22, Level 2 2022-24 and Ayurvedic massage 2024). All 3 courses are great and I'd do them all over again if I could!

I joined initially to understand myself and the personal challenges that I was facing during lockdowns. Being able to sit and listen to the core essence of ayurveda that Dr Deepika teaches allowed me to find balance in the most challenging of times. Also doing the case studies as part of qualification allowed me to see first hand the positive impact that Ayurveda can have.

The way in which Ayurveda is taught at AIUK by Dr Deepika has enabled me to understand how to apply its universal principles to Western lifestyles and therefore be of the best service to people in my local community through my own practice.

I completed the massage course earlier this year and I had a great time! The teachers and therapists were highly knowledgeable and explained the different techniques and how to perform massage successfully and how to provide proper care for the patient.

The overall guidance in setting up practice is really helpful and I feel confident and supported to carry the message of Ayurveda forwards.

I am currently doing the level 2 training at the institute after completing level 1 last year. I would highly recommend their programs. The application of the knowledge has been super impactful in the lives of my clients which makes my clients and I so happy! I especially love how practical and applicable Dr. D’s approach is to our current times and style of living. I also like that we can easily source the herbal supplements for our clients from a trustworthy company (that is affiliated with the institute).

Just finishing off my my Ayurvedic Lifestyle &Nutrition Level 1 course.
It has been an incredible journey. The amount of knowledge is incredible and I have enjoyed every moment of it. The encouragement and support given by DR Deepika and rest of the staff has been amazing. I have also been a patient of the clinic and again experience has been great in every aspect, you can feel they do care.
So many things about my own health journey make sense now and I am finding answers which western medical system was unable to give me.
I am not yet sure if I will become a proper practitioner but I have learned so much that the urge to share this knowledge and help other people is becoming greater with every day.
Thank you Dr Deepika for being you and sharing your wisdom.
