AVOID AT ALL COSTS - Especially if you are a first time buyer

Absolutely appalling service from JMP Solicitors. From the outset, they made countless errors, from incorrect quotes to failing to inform us of our eligibility for Help to Buy. Their communication was non-existent, with weeks passing without updates and promises of callbacks not being honoured. I don't know how many times I told them that we were first time buyers but clearly it didn't land.

Kirsty was dismissive and unprofessional, showing little interest in resolving our issues, she doesn't call you when you ask her to. I tried to speak to her only to be told she was on lunch and would call me back, a day and a half later I had to call again for her to be dismissive and told me she would call me later, she never did. I then emailed her a complaint, oddly enough she responded. The entire process was delayed due to their incompetence, causing unnecessary stress. We were forced to double-check all their work- thank God we did because we discovered critical errors, including a spelling mistake on important documents and an incorrect property report stating a £1000 debt to HMRC - pretty sure I was paying them for their knowledge not paying to give them mine. When we informed her and told her what page she needed to edit we were sent our seventh completion statement stating she removed the Stamp Duty charge and the transfer fee, the sixth completion statement she sent me had no charge for the Stamp Duty so it just shows that she wasn't reading my emails, and the property report was not edited. In the end we had to SCREENSHOT and CIRCLE the error and email it.

Despite multiple attempts to rectify these issues, it took excessive pressure to get any action. It's clear that minimal effort was put into our case. I expect a call from a company director to explain this unacceptable service and explain to me what I paid for. Emma and Kirsty need to have additional training, if you honestly think the level of service I received was adequate then you should be hanging your head in shame!

Avoid JMP Solicitors at all costs; it's not worth the stress and certainly not worth the money. I don’t understand what my £1000 service got me because it certainly didn't get me what I was promised.
