I wasn't happy with the service in the end. My solicitor (M) was quite good at court, but too aggressive and evasive on phone calls and after court. Also I'd call and be told that M was on Holiday (One time for over 2 months) and that nobody else in the firm could help me. I don't believe my solicitor was away from the office for over 2 months. I dont feel there was much interest in helping me win my case. I just felt like she didnt want to help at all. The advice that I often got was "We'll have to see when we get to court" Which isnt how it works, thats just more profitable for solicitors. Advice on how to deal with stuff outside of court wasnt clear or forthcoming. I've had better experiences with other solicitors.

EDIT:
Asked me to replace proof of funding, which isnt ever neccesary. same info given to 174 in the first instance was used by other solicitors to claim legal aid for court and advice, and continues to be valid today. If there was an issue with the funding, it was limited to within 174's office. This was the why I went to another solicitor.

The mediator didn't appear to be impartial at all, whenever my ex was talking the mediator's body language clearly showed she agreed; the sad face, bubba lip and little affirmative nods which I found very insulting.

I found it very concerning that my ex was able to admit to perpetrating physical domestic abuse during the session and the mediator didn't acknowledge it or even attempt to give me a chance to discuss it.

I left feeling I had no voice in the proceedings.

I didn’t have a good experience- I had to rewrite as I mentioned too many personal stuff here. I was recommended this company via legal aid and honestly it wasn’t the best choice! Maybe paying them directly the service would be better but I didn’t get the service I thought I’d get.
I self represented 2 years later and got the outcome i needed.

Helen who is our Family mediator has been helping me and ex partner in the past to get fair equal agreement over the child access and difficult separation issues! Easy to understand the process and would highly recommend to them if you are struggle to get a agreement with ex-partner. They are also very understanding my needs and make it easier to understand for me due being hard of hearing.

Donna Robinson was my mediator between myself and my ex. I’m currently on maternity leave and was able to afford one session a month and advised her of this thinking it was confidential. On her confirming the meeting with my ex she told him on TWO occasions that it was because of my low finances that the process was running slower. There is a reason why my ex and myself are going through mediation and I have spoken of the abuse I get from him. This has been used against me in multiple arguments because Donna Robinson told him of my circumstances which have nothing to do with him. It’s absolutely disgusting and so unprofessional. I had to cancel my mediation after one meet and greet session with her and wasted £100.00.
