Mostly decent, however when I spotted a mistake they made (which would have cost me over £1000 if I hadn't checked) they got very defensive and even rude when I started asking questions. Being quite short with me when I dropped down the office. I was only days from completion and they hadn't read the exemption for cancellation fees when porting my mortgage which resulted in them trying to overcharge me by over a grand.

In addition I was expecting documents from them a few times, with them having said they were sent, however I'd have to chase and call them, only to find the documents hadn't been sent. This resulted in some pretty tight timelines on my purchase/sale of my house and necessitated me taking time out of work to rush the documents to completion. If they were sent when they said they were then I would have had ample time. Something else that's worth mentioning is they requested the same documents off of me multiple times which I found annoying since I'd sent everything at the start in a pack for them to use.

Appreciate things get busy, but for the price you pay you expect things to be done when they say they'll be done.

Other than the above complaints though, quite reasonable price for what's on offer and I wouldn't say the issues I encountered would entirely put me off of them, I just think there are better options out there. Many of the staff were very pleasant a kind, sometimes working after hours, but one individual in particular I found to be quite rude, though thankfully for her I didn't catch her name.

Unfortunately the house purchase fell through, 5 months of waiting with no completion date was simply too long .

I recently used Peter Maughan Law to sell and buy a house, Gemma Owens was fantastic, she was very down to earth, friendly and professional. She explained plainly some issues we came across during our purchase, and her knowledge and advice was fantastic. Whenever I had any questions to or I simply wanted an update on the sale she always responded quickly.
On the day we I exchanged contacts we came across a lot of complications (non of which were down to Gemma) but she bent over backwards to sort everything out for us so we could still complete on that day, I feel as though she went above and beyond to help us out, me and my husband were so grateful she managed to sort it all out for us.
I couldn’t recommend her enough, I will definitely be using Peter Maughan Law in the future.

We recently instructed Gemma Owens to do our conveyancing at Peter Maughan Law, we absolutely would not use them again. We found the service extremely unhelpful and very defeatist from the outset. We were told on several occasions that our purchase was ‘dead in the water’ and it wasn’t until we intervened that we were able to push the purchase along. If we had of listened to the advice we were given we would never have ended up moving. We found the firm very unhelpful and there was clearly an ongoing issue between our solicitor and the seller’s solicitor which we seemed to be caught up in. We almost missed out on our mortgage offer as the process took so long and there was no common sense approach. Would not recommend at all!
