AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!

I've used Heritage for will writing and document storage for around 17 years. A couple of years ago I called them to pay my annual document storage fee of £30. After the phone call ended I received an email confirmation from them which said they were trying to take approximately £8000 - £9000 from my bank account! I only owed them £30! Luckily I opened the email straightaway and I noticed this. I called them back immediately in a complete panic to try and prevent this transaction going through and causing issues with my bank. They admitted they made a mistake and managed to cancel the payment request (only because I had noticed it in time).

Fast forward a couple of years to now, I received my annual document storage fee invoice for £30 for this year, put it to one side, and genuinely forgot about it due to being busy with stressful life circumstances. If I've ever missed an odd invoice before, they've just sent me a polite reminder and I've paid it straightaway. Life happens! However this year was a different story. Instead of sending me a polite reminder to pay the £30, I received a blunt letter telling me I owed £60 (£30 for this year, and £30 from a previous year). That previous year's payment that they have suddenly alleged that I owed was from a couple of years ago where I phoned them to pay the £30 but they had to cancel the payment due to their error of trying to take £9000 from me. Given that they caused me a huge deal of stress and panic in trying to take thousands of pounds from me that I clearly didn't owe, any reasonable person would assume that Heritage would have waived the £30 storage fee for that year, and they certainly haven't tried to ask for that payment in the last couple of years either! They also didn't ask for the "missed" £30 payment when they issued this year's invoice to me. First I heard of it was when I received this blunt letter from them recently saying I owe £60, not £30. Oh, and they are now also threatening to withhold my legal documents from me or to charge me a release fee for them. 17 years of being a loyal customer to them clearly means nothing! If you're looking to have a will written, or some legal documents stored, seriously, go somewhere else. Go somewhere that will deal with matters with empathy and won't try to take thousands of pounds from you in error.

Being generous giving them one star! Had a cold call from heritage wills after a week in intensive care in hospital. We used to call these types of business "ambulance chasers" I would choose a company with higher moral standards.

I am not a client of heritage wills nor have I ever been one.

Despicable! My late mother in law has been taken advantage of by not only her partner but by this company. You allowed someone with the advanced stages of Dementia to change their will! Your website says you support Dementia friendly Norwich. Absolutely disgusting as she didn’t even know who anyone was, let alone capable of knowing and understanding what a will was. All this was done with your knowledge and the say so of her partner!!
Haven’t followed procedures where joint will executors are involved .

Laughably boasting about 'Protecting the Vulnerable'. They allowed my mother's to be completely changed a year after she was diagnosed with Dementia. No medical experts consulted. Extremely rude staff trying to lie their way out of responsibility. Pay peanuts, Get Monkeys...

LIES LIES LIES - disgusting behaviour from Heritage Wills Norwich- been lied to for weeks about needing a solicitor & a signature from the other joint executor to retrieve will writers notes from the day my mothers will was changed by her despicable partner when she had advanced Alzheimer’s. YOU DO NOT NEED A SOLICITOR OR A SIGNATURE FROM THE OTHER EXECUTOR - this is just to fob you off in the hope you will go away. Had to report them to The Institute of professional Willwriters - who will tell you all you need to know about the law. The fact this company say they protect the vulnerable is an absolute joke. They should be ashamed of their conduct & the lies that one particular member of staff has spewed to me on the phone on several occasions.

Absolutely disgusting how they treated me and my family! It took over a year to finalise everything. They lacked communication throughout the whole thing. When the case was finally wrapping up it took them almost over a month to send one email saying it's finalised. We pushed about it and then they suddenly got the pace moving with the funds. Will not be using them again. Even my grandmother who had a pre-existing will with them has stopped using them after seeing how they treated my family and her! Appalling!

Unprofessional and rude. Scaremongering my wife into getting legal advice in order to retrieve legal documents she is legally entitled to. Crooked from the top down.

Very Rude staff !!! I rarely do review if do I try to give 5 stars but this time I am reluctant to give even 1 star because of way of their talking in a disrespectful manner.
