If Hatch Brenner are representating anyone in your chain proceed with major caution!! They did not respond to my solicitors for 8 weeks at the beginning of the process which delayed the whole chain and cost me additional money. They also delayed enquires, exchange and on day of completion after 1pm they decided to ask my solicitor for their bank details!! This delayed the whole chain further and cost me even more money!! They are completely useless and do not care about getting things completed in a timely manner. I would have pulled out if they hadn't drained me financially already!

What an incredible let down. Agreed to represent us on an auction property purchase involving international buyers, and then the day after the auction dropped us on the basis that funds held in an EU account are against their internal regulation. This is despite being asked questions at the time of quote as to where the money comes from. With an auction purchase and tight timescales for completion, they have left us in an incredibly difficult position. Extremely unprofessional and uncaring - don’t use

Utterly disappointed with the lack of professionalism exhibited by Hatch Brenner. Totally useless and a waste of my time. It has almost been 3 months and I am no closer to gaining the assistance quoted.

I first contacted Hatch Brenner in early December 2023 regarding my father's estate. I received a response from Caroline Billings on 07 Dec with a quote and offer to assist with the inheritance matter. I then did not hear from Caroline again, despite chasing, until 15 Jan 2024 with Caroline apologising that my email had gone into "spam". I only got this response after calling the office (nobody picked up), emailing the group company email address, and submitting the query form on the website - ridiculous. Nonetheless I accepted the excuse and responded to Caroline. More fool me, I am still yet to hear back from her despite replying via email, getting my partner to forward my email in case my response did end up in spam, emailing the company address, and submitting through the website again.

This goes beyond unprofessional to rude, distasteful even, given they were dealing with my late father's inheritance.

Simon's hard work and professionalism is second to none. He is totally dedicated and truly cares about his
clients. Simon has guided me from day one with his knowledge, experience and understanding and has always been there to answer questions. He has a wonderful relaxed manner and was reassuring when things were tough for me. His response was quick and I was always kept up to date with the matters he had in hand. I really can't thank Simon enough for such a first class service and this thanks also extends to Hayley and the rest of the team.

Many thanks Simon.

I used Hatch Brenner to sell and purchase a house last year and they were fantastic so when I needed additional work undertaken I had no hesitation in contacting them. However, the solicitor I had been dealing with had unfortunately left and I was given the name of another solicitor at the practice, Happy Khumbeni, who could undertake the work instead. I agreed, assuming the work would be of a similar standard.

Unfortunately, I had nothing but issues at every single stage. I had to explain the work I wanted carried out on four separate occasions over a 2 month period, a month of which I had assumed the work had already begun because Happy hadn't contacted me to say he hadn't understood and had therefore been doing nothing.

Every document that was sent to me to sign was incorrect, with one document having my date of birth, monies owed and the name of the person I was paying all incorrect. Another document had me listed as a witness rather than a deed owner. At every stage I had to go back and ask for corrections. On numerous occasions Happy had "lost" emails or documents that he later found. The level of attention to detail and the communication was poor at best. I had to constantly check for updates. My biggest concern was that these were legal documents and given their technicality, there may have been errors in the sections that I didn't understand.

I wrote to the head of conveyancing of the practice, Sarah Finn, explaining all of these issues and how unprofessional I found the service. I was promised that this would be looked in to. This was on the 23rd May 2022 and I haven't heard anything since. Given that one of my complaints was that I had to keep chasing for an update, I feel that this is unbelievably unprofessional. I feel that once I had settled my balance (of which I didn't ask for a discount), they didn't care about my complaint. Hence this review. Avoid!!!

Edit: I haven't received any correspondence from Hatch Brenner following my review, despite their reply below suggesting they've been in touch.

Colin took my case on after my original solicitors we’re not acting in best interests. Very professional throughout and highly recommended. Only wish I had gone with Hatch Brenner initially.

Julie and Wendy were so professional and efficient throughout the purchase of my house. It was an auction property which required completion in 28 days. They were so helpful, friendly and fast to respond anytime I had a question. Highly recommend!
