My father's will was left in their hands. They ignored emails, calls to return my call went unheaded. After 4 weeks they said they would write to the beneficiaries to tell us our father had died. I would highly recommend people give them a wide berth. After 8 weeks, still no letters to the beneficiaries to introduce themselves at least if not to give the terms of business as promised.

I rang this company as me and my partner were going through a transfer of equity. I spoke with the Conveyancing team in the Colne branch who was not helpful in any way! He initially sent a letter to our mortgage company stating he would be acting on our behalf, after the mortgage company received this letter I didn’t here anything from the solicitor for 2 weeks. After the first week I called and left a message as he was busy, in the second week I called again, but he was "busy" once again. So I told the receptionist could he please call me back asap as it was important. Still no call after the third week so I called again and yes...... you guessed it right he was "busy" AGAIN! Very poor service, we could have had the transfer completed in these three weeks, complete waste of time and obviously thinks he is too good to reply to his customers. Disgusting! I am now dealing with Steele & Son Solicitors who are very helpful, talk you through each step and give you a decent quote for the minimal work that is carried out for the simple transfer of equity. I would not recommend using this company if you are looking for a helpful, speedy service. Hope this review helps people who are looking for a decent solicitor.

This was the second solicitor i tried and got a very warm welcome instantly when we arrived at reception from the two girls. One of the girls booked appointment for me for the following day. We met Mandy and she was so helpful at putting our mind at ease. We talked about what should have happened and should not have happened and what needs to put in place to go forward. We left feeling confident that the solicitor was up for the job in hand and any work would be kept to minimal to keep cost down and a quote would be provided before any work began. Couldn't be happier.

Was dropped because i had to cancel a few times due to being unwell and disabled also was greaving due to my dad passing away recently also does not do legal aid under probate or right much under the legal aid scheme very unhelpful left me hanging feeling depressed with anxiety with thoughts of suicide

UPDATE: A couple of weeks have passed since I made this review but I have had an update since then. Fahrat Unnisa insisted to me that I wasn't entited to legal aid. However I have since been advised that she was wrong!! I am so glad that I didn't take her advice as I would have been stuck. I felt so depressed and helpess after speaking with her that I almost gave up hope. My advice is to not waste your time and money/legal aid with Farnworth Shaw. Save yourself the heartache and visit one of the many other Solicitors in Nelson, Colne or Burnley who actually listen to what you have to say.

I visited the Nelson office and the lady on Reception was really nice and welcoming. However when I met Fahrat, the Solicitor, I felt she lacked any sort of empathy and even politeness at times. I felt like I wanted to leave almost as soon as I sat down. Fahrat spent much of our short time talking over me which was particularly difficult as I have trouble hearing. Very disappointing.

Would not recommend for family courts if your the father the mother will get most of it still. Recommend going to someone else who actually cares about the father because the solicitor I had obviously didn't.
