We chose Buchannan’s as part of the ‘free wills’ scheme in March. Unfortunately our original appointment had to be cancelled due to our having covid(!), but the receptionist was lovely and there were no issues with moving to a new date.
The will was for my brother who has learning difficulties and can be very reticent with strangers. Alex was amazing with him. Put him at ease from the word go and I think he now sees him as a ‘mate’!
Excellent service, highly professional and approachable / friendly. I would have no hesitation in recommending them.

I asked Buchanan & Co to draw up a will for me under the free wills service.
PROS
+ The process was efficient.
+ The legal advisor was thorough, highlighting several issues that I hadn't considered, for example that I should consider setting up an LPA

CONS
- The advisor seemed to be confused about the inheritance tax status of SIPPs. I had to explain that a SIPP should be treated
- They were keen to sell me a Lasting Power of Attorney package for a special price of £663. A quick Google search revealed that it is a very straightforward process which I could get done via the official government website for £164.
- The firm appears to have a history of posting defensive and occasionally belligerent comments in response to reviews.

Iv used this solicitor since 2018 and I had a good experience until Gemma Doyle the account manager took over from the previous lady that I did my accounts with .. Gemma Doyle has over charged me twice I only found out as I checked my invoice to my bank statement and she tried to charge me twice for council fees I questioned it and she put it down to a mistake then I had another invoice saying I owe them £122 and dated the sane date saying I now owe anther £850 and the solicitor hadn't even done anything for me to be owed this.. so if anyone uses this company please make sure you double check invoice as Gemma will try chaging you twice she's very unprofessional and doesn't even take calls and only does emails
